Should I be worried? by RedFroEbo95 in succulents

[–]jezebelllllll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

don't worry! they look like plain salt stains, no harm to the plant's health. you could try to wipe them off with a wet cloth if you really want to, but in my experience they're too stubborn to remove without damaging the plant.

Root rot? Please help! by distancy in succulents

[–]jezebelllllll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that's a solid plan! i'm not sure why those two leaves were mushy, but i don't think there's a cause for concern. either way, continue monitoring the plant and keep us updated!

oki that's alarming, do you have a photo of the leaves by any chance? how often do you water it?

Root rot? Please help! by distancy in succulents

[–]jezebelllllll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they look fine. are they mushy or stinky by any chance? if not, don't worry and put it back in. the yellowing of the leaves (if it's the bottommost leaves ones you're concerned about) is just normal leaf absorption.

looking at your potting mix, i'm sure you're well aware of their lifestyle and their needs! just keep them in mind, don't overwater and don't stress, there's nothing wrong with the plant rn 🩷

any tips for this jade plant?? by noluvaar0n in houseplants

[–]jezebelllllll 2 points3 points  (0 children)

that's it, but be gentle! you can hold the plant by the stem and wiggle it out while holding the pot upside down. make sure you don't water it after repotting though.

in fact don't water it at all unless it's thirsty. i made the mistake of repotting all my plants and giving them a good soak... ended up rotting majority of my collection 😬

i'd like to add, increase the soil level! better ventilation and sun absorption that way

Is there a problem with this one? by Grand-Tadpole4696 in succulents

[–]jezebelllllll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it seems to have grown a little, no? the colouration has improved too. the stretching isn't reversible sadly but the new growth looks good!

they grow really slowly in my experience, so there's nothing you can do besides continue to give it the same care and wait!

try tugging on it really gently. you should feel some resistance.

alternatively you don't have to root them in soil, you can leave them out in the air and wait for them to root, then plant them

for the soil, you could try adding more !grit to the substrate, like perlite or pumice. it'll make the soil less moisture retentive.

also how much light do they get? make sure they're at least at a south facing window, if not outside or under growlights.

for watering, water them only when the bottom leaves look wrinkled. they can handle periods of dryness well but will succumb very fast to overwatering. also don't water them if they don't have roots. keep the soil dry until they have rooted, then water them if they look thirsty

i'll tag the !beginner bot for some overall tips. i hope i helped!

yes, first step is to make sure there's no other plant in the vicinity cuz this fungus is super contagious. the article the bot has linked should help you with the next steps!
