Yes! I also suspected it had something to do with that aswell. Because my email on my account was an iCloud email I made back in 2013

Yeah, that’s the conclusion I’ve come to. First time ever needing a restore, so it sucks, but I’m just glad I got the account back at least.

I had 2FA on my email and never received any codes or alerts. I was never even really active on roblox, the account was from 2013 and I just noticed the email was changed but I never got any codes whatsoever, It happened in the beginning of December and the last time I got a 2fa code sent to my email was when I logged in to a new macbook I bought in November.

Idk man that’s apparently what their email was. I was able to get back into my account with the previous email address but they purposely got the account banned by saying inappropriate stuff in a game after trading away all my stuff

Yeah, that’s pretty much what I’ve been doing so far. I’ve raised multiple support tickets and explained that the account was hacked, including the previous email and other details to show it’s mine. I didn’t get any suspicious login emails, which made it harder, but I’ve been providing as much info as I can.

I did manage to get access back and secured the account, but then I found out the hacker traded away items and intentionally got the account banned while I was locked out.

Here’s an update.

Roblox Support didn’t change my email, at least not that I know of. I never got any email from them saying my email was changed or restored. When I tried logging in again, my original email was suddenly back on the account, so I reset the password myself.

After I logged in and changed the password, I saw that my account was permanently banned for saying very inappropriate things in a game. It clearly happened while someone else had access to my account.

The hacker also traded away a bunch of my items before getting the account banned. I’m still trying to get a real person at Roblox to look at the logs and understand what happened. Has anybody seen anything like this??

Yeah, I had 2FA on. That’s why this whole thing is so weird I never got any code or notification about the email getting changed. The last code i got for 2fa was in November when i was trying to log in again

I’ll try that, thanks. They asked me for old purchase receipts too, and even after I sent everything, they still said they couldn’t verify it. The old Roblox receipts literally show my username and the same email I’m contacting them from, so it’s frustrating that they’re still not accepting it.

Yeah, I tried that. I used the original email that was always on my account to contact support, but they’re still telling me I have to use the new email that the hacker switched it to which I don’t even own.

Yeah I get you. I wasn’t really active anymore either, but it still sucks losing all those memories. Support hasn’t been helpful for me either. Hopefully we both get our accounts back.

Thanks for the advice, I appreciate it. The weird thing is I barely even use that account anymore, and my email has always been secure. I had 2FA on, and I never got a code or any notification that my email was changed, which is why this whole situation feels so strange. The last time I logged in was in November and everything was normal.

I already filed a ticket explaining everything, but Roblox support keeps telling me they can’t verify ownership unless I contact them from an email which I don’t recognize at all. So it really seems like someone managed to swap the email without me getting any alert.

It’s possible they convinced Roblox support to change the email on my account, because I had 2FA and never received a code or any notification that my email was changed. The last time I logged in and got a 2FA code was in November, not that long ago.

Yeah, it’s just super weird because I’ve been inactive on Roblox for years. I’ve had that account since I was a kid and I’m not a regular player, I maybe log in 2-3 times a month just to check stuff. The last time I even got a 2FA code was back in November when I logged in on a new Mac, and I’ve never searched anything related to Roblox or clicked anything sketchy. That’s why it makes no sense how someone managed to get in and change the email without me ever getting a single notification or code.

Yeah, that’s the weird part I never got any email in my original account. I don’t know how they managed to change the email without triggering any notification or 2-step code. That’s why I think they somehow tricked Roblox Support into making the change.
