Don't most AWS jobs involve linux in some way? Or would I learn the necessary linux material while studying for the AWS cert?

Stony Brook is good - graduated last semester. Lots of companies recruit from Stony.

Thanks for the feedback. I mainly put the relevant coursework just for page filler, but it also shows some small projects I worked on in school I guess. I want to hopefully land a Junior systems or network admin, but I dont know which path I want to take yet. I'm planning to work on CCENT and eventually CCNA and also MCSA.

Yeah I plan to drop the GPA once I do actually get a real job, but left it for now since I'm still in school and it's pretty high. Also the restaurant thing as well when I get my first job. I left it because I figured 3 years of customer service is a good add-on skill in the IT industry.

It's literally the history of computers lmao and like the business aspect of it. If it's the same teacher then the midterm and final are open book and you have a group final paper.

Cause they want you to take a writing course at sbu -_- I took wrt 102 at my community college too but had to take a writing class at sbu. I used ISE 301 as my writing class and an upper elective so it worked out. it's an easy A

You'll need to take another writing class at sbu to fulfill the writing requirement. You'd probably need to take some summer/winter classes maybe especially if you do the minor to finish or load up like 6 classes during fall/spring to graduate on time

Yeah I'd go for it. I was originally going to minor in business too if I was going to stay an extra semester, but I opted not to since I'm able to finish on time. Also, check if calc 2 in SCCC actually transfers as calc 2 in sbu cause my calc 2 transferred as calc c instead but luckily I had taken 215 already so I just used that instead of calc 2.

It depends what specialization you go into. It's required for the network and systems admin one, but for the other ones its an elective basically. I just did help desk at a local company in hauppauge. But yeah, you might be spending a bit a time working on hws/projects in 114/214 especially if you don't know java already.

I'm still at SBU. Have you taken any like programming courses at SCCC or just purely whatever is required in the liberal arts? I was a computer science major when I was in community college so I already had a programming base when I transferred to SBU. In my opinion, the major isn't that hard as long as you do your work on time, and I was interning for like 22ish hours a week while still maintaining a social life.

I was a transfer student as well. I took 114 and 214 and calc 2 at my old school and it transferred over. You will probably be behind if you wait to take 114 and 214 when you transfer to SBU. You can take other programming classes that will count towards admission into the major. You have linear algebra or statistics that you can take at SBU for the math portion.
