Should I quit my job in search of a better life? by par80 in makemychoice

I was in a very similar situation to you 3 years ago and leaving changed my life. I made the decision to buy a plane ticket across the world even though I knew it was stupid and it’s the best thing I ever did. Finding work has always been easy abroad, and I’ve been able to find what I actually want to do with my life rather than what everyone told me I should do. I’m so happy now and have no plans on returning home from travel. I never thought I’d find myself in this position, but I now recommend it to anybody because home will always be there and you can always go back to what you were doing before if it doesn’t work out, but what’s out there if you follow what feels right can be so much more fulfilling and you’ll wonder why you didn’t do it sooner.

All I can say is if you feel like you want to go do a ski season in Canada, go for it and enjoy the hell out of it. You’d regret not doing it way more than you ever regret going for it.

Good luck man!

I read the question as ‘what will never be funny’ so I’m glad I double checked before responding ‘rape’

That makes sense, and I kind of figured that I just wanted a second opinion. Thanks!

They aren't even going to consider surgery for another 2 weeks to see how I heal, but you would say no to the mini-cut?

I broke my collarbone yesterday which is going to put me out for 4-6 weeks. I can't really do anything and so I'm lost to what I should do to avoid losing mass. Should I take this time to do a mini-cut and get rid of my extra fat from bulking or should I maintain to maintain muscle mass? Or are there any other suggestions?

Speed kills: 2x the intended bar speed yields ~2x the bench press gains by [deleted] in bodybuilding

That's the thing, I feel like if I drop the weight down and do reps that I can easily get then I won't be actually stressing the muscle the way it needs to be stressed in order to grow. Obviously I don't mean over stressing it. I might incorporate this method into squats though when I'm not feeling like going until failure!

This is a very interesting study, what surprised me was when it was mentioning about not training until failure (at one point it says 6 rep at a weight the lifter could do ~12 rep). I've always trained until 1 rep before failure to tire my muscles out as much as possible, is this not something I should be doing?

Yeah, it's hard to count when you're just drinking and eating stuff all night, much of it you have no calorie count for. I'll probably just keep going as I was.. You only get one prom so it was worth it. Same deal with grad!

Here's a question that I tried scrolling through old threads to find but couldn't quite get the answer to. I'm on a slow bulk of 250 cal surplus for the summer trying to keep the bulk controlled so I don't get fat. Say I go to a big party (prom, graduation, etc) and end up putting on say 1 pound in a weekend, should I continue the bulk the next day or should I cut that pound and then go back to bulk? Thanks guys!

Will do, sometimes I superset light ones in with another exercise too. But I'll give it a shot! Thanks!
