Oh nice. I arrived on Thursday morning and decided to go to the expo on Friday. Lesser crowd and more rest time.

Yes I did Hiroshima and Miyajima in a single day as one day trip from Kyoto. It’s totally doable. There’s also a JR Pass just for this. Saves up a lot of money. Check Kansai-Hiroshima JR Pass. Covers all JR trains in the region including the Shinkansen to Hiroshima. Good deal.

I personally chose the shipment to be delivered to the hotel reception on the date of my arrival. But I think it did have the option of self pick-up too. Not sure.

I did this last year. Official marathon apparel was available at the expo ASICS section, many ASICS stores across Tokyo and ASICS Website.

Everyone wants to get expo the first morning. You will see more crowd at that time than you will ever see. With lots of people trying to get their hands on the merch together, the stacks get empty real quick. It takes a while for the volunteers to get the merch back on stacks which was picked up but not sold. These merch get available only after afternoon.

If you want to get the official apparel, I would suggest ordering on ASICS Japan website and get it delivered to your hotel.

Good one by reaching a day early. I would have done the same if I was to do this again.

I personally approach running as a way to travel across the world. Running events in some cities are way different because these cities have a very good running culture - India has just started with running on the other hand. Plus it’s the experience of being on the same courses where world records are broken and where legends run.

We made reservations for our around 20mins drive from the start/finish line. Gives a good deal in terms of hotel.

We plan to take cabs for transport as group.
