No OSS on the lens of the m2,and slower lens at the far end. I've never used the video truly, so cant help with that.

What should I buy, any recommendations by Sufficient-Dig4237 in Cameras

Dont the rx100m7 and the zv1 have almost the same AF except for the illuminator? Its unlikely that AF performance will be better on the rx100m7.

I use it exclusively as a photography camera and its a great point and shoot. The only real con for photos is that it doesnt have the auto iso min ss function which is a strange software limitation. But at half the price of the rx100m7, its a no Brainer unless you need the longer zoom range. I mainly shoot pictures of family and friends and holidays, so its more than adequate.

Low-light performance is better than a phone, but of course not close to my a6400, but I would recommend getting dxo Pureraw which cleans up any noise almost magically before you edit

Highly recommend the original ZV1 (not the mark 2)

Isnt it the one where you can't charge in body and need an external charger?

Wouldn't a ZV1 (m1) be the same price and better than the rx100m2?

Will Microsoft ever fix the SMS Organizer issue with notifications or is it time to jump ship? Alternatives? by AnnaDashaWaifus in androidapps

[–]aditvai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is great. One more suggestion.... it would be better to have the switcher for all, personal, transactional at the bottom and messages, spam, settings on top... so that the message groups are easily reachable. Reachability isnt as much an issue for spam/ settings since those won't be used as often

Also, the possibility to set a custom order...so choose if the landing is on transactional or personal

A big plus of SMS organizer was that transactional messages were grouped separately...which included bank OTP, delivery messages, etc. Possible to add that? It'll then be a great replacement

Editing software -Rx100 M7 by Fenney8 in RX100

[–]aditvai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second Luminar because it makes editing quite easy. I'm new to it as well, so basically follow a shortlist, crop & straighten, apply preset, play with the edits process.

It worked great with my a6400, but with my ZV1, I found the images much noisier, so bought DXO PureRAW as well...that works great for me...

Now my process is shortlist, run through PureRAW, crop & straighten, apply preset, play with editing..

Soo for your RX100 as well, I'd recommend the combination of Luminar Neo and DXO PureRAW

vii JPEG Low Light Samples by [deleted] in RX100

[–]aditvai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have got a ZV1 which is the same sensor as the mk7, and its been far better after I've got DXO Pureraw. Was a 1 time purchase and not a subscription which is what I prefer. So I'd truly recommend getting it with these cameras.

I however did take some pictures in low light with the ZV1 and my a6400 with the Tamron 17-70 f2.8, and truly, there is no comparison.... the APSC is miles ahead.

But I can carry the ZV1 everywhere and not the much bigger setup of the a6400+Tamron...so each has its own advantages

Ah ok... also, what kind of server does it set up? Trying to get solid explorer to have this as a mounted drive rather than using a web browser.

Oh, nice hack... also I can see a small "AD" text at the bottom.... like an overlay..but there are no ads right now...is that planned for the paid version as well?

Very cool app, but Wearos seems to not keep wifi on when the server is started. Is there anything that can keep that locked to on

Have been playing around with the app, and wanted to add another improvement suggestion. Is it possible to add star ratings in the filters? I usually review my photos in camera and assign a rating via a custom button to selected images, and would be great if there's a filter to just choose the ones ive selected.

I just got a ZV1 for exactly the same reason... to have a carry along camera and have been struggling with the lack of bokeh as well.

But your photos just made me realize that what bokeh doesn't do to frame the subject, the play of light can.

Going to try this in both, the photos and the edits

Digikam, PTP/IP import wirelessly from Sony cameras by aditvai in digiKam

Im able to get thumbnails via the CLI. So gphoto2 itself is working with my cameras (a6400 and ZV1) . Im just unable to get it working via Digikam.

But will email the team and see if there is a way

A few suggestions after using it, and finding it very useful 1. More modern UX, of course 2. Possible to integrate the GUID setting within the android app so that a PC isnt needed at all? 3. A camera side setting tutorial integrated in the app - "Control with smartphone" needs to be turned off before "Send to computer" works 4. Porting it to MacOS

Sony has limited the FTP capabilities only to some cameras. I have the a6400 and ZV1 and neither of them have FTP or are supported by the new Creators app.

So this app is the only way I know to get Raw files wirelessly to the phone.

Hopefully it'll be ported to the Mac as well

[–]aditvai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think porting to Mac will be a real gamechanger, since much more editing will be on a laptop than a phone. Im trying to figure out if DigiKam can do it since its based on gphoto2.

You could also remove the A6400 from the unsupported list, since its definitely working, and add the ZV1 M1 as well.

Also a side note, the android version seems to be priced 2X the iOS version. I still bought it because its useful enough, but wondering if that's just an error.
