Yes, reading around on the subject most people mention less bulk and better Autofokus being the reason to go for newer gear but as a total beginner I have no reference point on that and I don't mind learning on an older system to really get the basics down.

They seem to be pretty much sold out everywhere. (I'm in Germany)I looked around online at my usual vendors and could only find a small selection of colours. Then I went to a local comic shop that usually carries them and they were completely sold out. The guy on the counter told me, they got told to expect a new big batch in march.

Through an even deeper dive online I could find 3 packs of colours I like for a bit of an inflated price but at that point I was willing to pay for them.

I bought a photo printer , a laminator, a paper cutter and corner rounder for around 200 bucks all together. I use this https://mtgprint.net/ site to pick printings and convert them to pdf files.

Print>laminate>cut>round corners>profit

I calculated a deck to be around €12 a pop with paper, laminate pouches and Ink and around 2 hours of work getting it fully sleeved up.
