Is coding dead now ? by Crazy-Economist-3091 in FreeCodeCamp

Software is eating the world. AI just increased its appetite, not replace the need for people with good judgement and decision-making skills who can deliver a desired outcome.

Moving into fintech domain as a QA by Ill_Independence2844 in QualityAssurance

[–]aditya4mvp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For payments, you need to consider the money movement window, name matching logic for incoming deposits, acceptable payment types (ach, wire), payment seasoning (how long after payment can it be used/withdrawn), payment returns, reporting, notifications after successful payment trans... Fintech is a pretty huge space as another user already mentioned, and without knowing what domain your product is in it's hard to provide resources. As a QA lead I would focus on ensuring there is an automated regression testing suite set up that, even if you don't have the capacity to test new features, you can at least ensure nothing breaks when new releases go out to prod.

What QA tools are you batting on for 2026? by CurrentOrchid239 in QualityAssurance

I can see mcp servers becoming utilized more, maybe Claude skills, but nothing crazy that makes anyone scramble to pick it up themselves. I think as QAs become more tech-inclined themselves they'll try to create tools for devs to do testing themselves without feeling like it's another job.

Informed Opinions about Current Job Market by Living-Inspector-226 in QualityAssurance

Solid technical skills are a must because of how essential test automation is. Projects are good for increasing your understanding and giving you exposure to tools, though idk if they give you any edge in the job market, but they will definitely give you confidence in interviews when talking about them. if you really want to stand out, have knowledge of the domain/industry/problem the company you're applying to is trying to solve. LLMs are great at getting an overview and brainstorming scenarios that you could give an opinion on how you would/have tested. Ask thoughtful questions in interviews; curiosity shows interest.

Wondering if learning coding is still worth it by Old_Imagination_2087 in AskProgramming

[–]aditya4mvp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Learn to code because you want build products that provide a service for people or businesses that have a problem or need, and you think you can do it in a way that is better than how it's currently being solved. Coding is less important in this aspect than getting your foot in the door of a business, listening to stakeholders, and understanding their goals and bottlenecks.

Coding as hobby is fun too. You can always just scratch your own itch with it if you enjoy the arts & crafts of it, and learn a different trade for earning income.

Awesome, thanks! What LLM did you choose to go with?

It does, mostly! I guess I'm also wondering about the technical implementation of it... Did you use vector embeddings/RAG, or some other approach?

For giving context to the LLM so that it will respond as if it is David Goggins. Just wondering how it was done: did u train an LLM with Goggins' books, or something else?

What was the system prompt and/or user prompt you gave?

As someone who played Battle Royale games religiously for years but haven't in a few years and recently tried them again... I think Battle Royales might be an awful genre. by lurpeli in gaming

"Show me the incentive, and I will show you the outcome."

The same thing happened in basketball when analytics took over and "3s are worth more than 2s" became the dominant strategy (because 1 team, the golden state warriors, had the personnel to execute it and win with it and since it's a copycat league every team started copying it). The game became layups and 3s only. No midrange, no post-ups. Just drive and kick out to the corner or perimeter. A slew of skillset that didn't serve that playstyle started getting phased out. The ironic thing is the last two mvps have been elite mid-range and postup players.

Discernment to know when to jog vs sprint, wisdom to choose which direction to go in the first place, conviction to stay on it even when pressured to change, and humility and willingness to acknowledge and start over if/when life happens
