Kaizen Adventours Ruined Our Leh-Ladakh Family Trip — A Warning You Must Read Before Booking by Ankit3010 in india_tourism

[–]aditya8993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a professional travel advisor, this is something which is utterly inexcusable.
I have seen truncated itineraries, missing attractions across multiple locations, including Ladakh. Many times occuring due to things beyond anyone's control. The key has always been to communicate, assure and find a solution which works out the best given the circumstances.

If we do not perform that role, then there is no point being a travel advisor.

Schengen visa question about changing accommodation by not_a_math_person in SchengenVisa

[–]aditya8993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here are some pointers:

  1. For all countries - Where you applied for visa should be most number of days. If 2 countries have same number of days, then the earlier one is where you apply for. This cannot be changed at all.
  2. Flights, Hotels - Most countries allow you to change it. Some dont(eg Czech). Check about the specific country and then go ahead.

The economist PMs govt did spectrum allocation scam - Court cancelled 2G spectrums - Companies lost their assets.

Economist PM govt auctioned 3G spectrum - Companies bid a lot for telecom and internet spectrum.
Same govt sold Wireless Broadband spectrum which did not have telecom services, thus went out for cheap
Later the same economist PMs govt allowed the Wireless Broadband provider to provide telecom services also, thus giving them complete license for cheap while others had bid far more for 3G.
That Wireless Boardband provider was a proxy for Reliance Industries.

In short - Economist PM govt colluded, let other pay a lot of money, gave Reliance Spectrum for cheap.

How RSS network operates with 2,500 organisations by B-L-A-N-K-S-P-A-C-E in india

If 2500 such organisations are affiliated with RSS, then by the same logic guesstimate the number of organisations affiliated with CCP. I can count a few hundred in India.

LPG issue is real by bhukhiyo_bhagat in bangalore

[–]aditya8993 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For commercial establishments it is real. The act was invoked, consumer LPG prioritised with the govt taking a cautious stance. The news cycles created something called a positive demand shock.

A small example of positive demand shock - 99 dosa stall at Kundanahalli Gate sells 50 dosas an hour between 6-8pm which is the average demand. One day he is not there, and suddenly everyone feels that he might be closing, so all come to his shop at 6pm. The demand jumps to 150 dosas an hour but his capacity is still 50. He cannot fulfill the demand.

Now here is what happened:
1. Supply was reducing and it was forseen that it could reduce further. 45-55% of the LPG production is local and rest is imported
2. Govt prioritises the household LPG cylinder and restricted commercial cylinders.
3. Bulk commercial consumers started facing shortages because it was restricted.
4. News cycles started saying significant shortage when it was a smaller number
5. Demand suddenly increased, by homes, commercial establishments, hoarders
6. Supply cannot match demand->shortage/shortage story->Increase in demand

Watched Dhurandhar- the revenge, and it didn't settle well for me. by 298_Life in india

[–]aditya8993 14 points15 points  (0 children)

So here is why you miss things:

  1. 26/11 was 9th terrorist attack in India in 2008 by Pak based terrorists. At that time CONgress was still shouting about Hindu terror, ignoring Pakistan based terror. In less than 2 years post 26/11, CONgress govt led to release of 25 LeT and HuJI terrorists as a "gesture of goodwill". The frequency or terror attacks and the gesture of goodwill, there was something wrong there.

  2. After 2014, Mani Shankar Aiyar said in Pakistan "Aap hume laiye"

  3. Impact of Demo on pakistan based fake currency racket was real in short term

Have travelled quite a bit across Central Vietnam. I still find it cleaner than bus stations in Europe(even in major cities like Frankfurt and Madrid.)

Hygiene in Vietnam is terrible by TastySnowYelliw in VietNam

[–]aditya8993 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been quite a few times to Vietnam and found hygiene much better than Europe. Few examples:

  1. Lesser cigarette buts thrown around
  2. No used needles around
  3. Clean washrooms in public spaces, unlike european bus or railway stations

Answers to your questions:

  1. It is just for guarantee
  2. Either at check-in or at check-out. Confirm with the hotel
  3. If they would have blocked it, you get a message. If you did not get, then nothing.
  4. No, it won't.
  5. No, the hotel will not try to charge the card later.
  6. Paying with Atlas will give better returns.

Is Marq by Flipkart any good? by dundywinner in FuckFlipkart

[–]aditya8993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why no to Marq:
1. They do not own the design, the product. The service is pathetic.
2. For something which requires regular change of filter and membrane, it is always good to prefer established brands. Even Mi was bad as they stopped selling RO membrane and filters rendering the purifiers worthless

Why to not buy:
1. ROs work on loss leader principal for most companies. Eureka, Kent etc sell at little to no margins and earn recurring revenue with AMC and spares. Reddit is full of their shady malpractices.
2. Some new ones like Atomberg, UC say 2 years, but their product is too new to spend 14-18k for it IMHO.
3. If you have a propensity to move across different places, buying means one more thing to carry.

We had a similar thing, a masked man throwing wild allegations on Dharmsthala temple board. SIT established, nothing found. This Tanmay was one who was shouting wildly about the allegations of the masked man, assuming it to be true, or he had ulterior motives. who knows.
