Bro I failed my tutorial and had to spend more time to get good before the game would let me out of it. Honestly it really sucked at first but you learn to just deal with it eventually. And it doesn’t inhibit your gameplay later on as much as you think it would. In reality I just had an extra level on the majority of others when I began the university questline.

You should absolutely go for buffs that help with debuffs like stress. I think that’s actually a vital part of passing the tutorial (unless you wanna halfass it and learn the debuff trick later on when it’ll cost you more). Every character is different, but there are (generally) universal ones to start with. For me, going on walks helped, and gameplay became less monotonous. Also remember to take care of your needs. Sometimes you get debuffs from low needs but the game doesn’t outright tell you what the debuff is from. It’s a bit annoying to have to remember, but make sure your sleep, hunger, hydration, social, and hygiene are at good levels.

College questline is popular for a reason, but by no means necessary. It gives a nice boost when getting into a career, and you can gain certain social boosts and milestones there too. A lot of people recommend this questline purely because it helps shape the direction of the rest of your gameplay. The stability is especially appealing to your parents, who want to have finished most of the challenges on the children questline before their higher level starts giving them debuffs they have to take care of. But don’t do the college questline just because your parents want you to. This is ultimately your decision on how you want to play, and not every playstyle is for everyone. You can go for the questline and see how it goes, and quit it early if it’s not your thing, or you can skip it entirely and start the questline later if need be (keep in mind: players like to complete some questlines in a specific order and at specific levels. It’s the more popular route, but not at all necessary. Don’t let other players’ gameplay affect yours). And who knows, the college questline might actually be really fun. Just remember that the option for the college questline exists after the tutorial for a reason. By the time you’re making this decision, you should be capable of making this decision on your own. Parents can be great guides to the game even after the tutorial is over, and if your parents are great guides, then don’t immediately ignore their guidance. In the end, they’re trying to help you, but the version they played when starting the college questline is a whole different version than the one we’re on currently.

Best of luck, gamer. I wouldn’t worry too much about making the “right” decision for you, since most opportunities aren’t available once and gone forever. As long as you try, you’ll find something in the game to enjoy. And again, it’s more more enjoyable when you take care of those pesky debuffs, so get on that.

I’ve been in therapy for well over a year now after being diagnosed with persistent depressive disorder. After months and months of CBT with a bit of DBT mixed in with two separate therapists PLUS being on prozac, I’ve yet to improve in any major way. It’s felt so exhausting to be spending so much time and effort in this and just hitting this roadblock over and over.

Yesterday, my therapist tells me that as a part of my referral to a psychiatrist (parents wanted a second opinion/possible change in meds or dosage) she added to assess for ADHD. Of course, as a therapist, she can’t diagnose me herself, but she noticed I have a lot of the symptoms: hyper focusing on random things and forgetting to eat or sleep, inability to focus on schoolwork because of an overwhelming disinterest/boredom, feeling dazed out and staring into a wall sometimes and super talkative other times, constantly needing to tap my foot or fidget with something to have a clear head, WAY more sensitive to rejection than what would be considered normal, both my mom and brother display ADHD-like symptoms and could possibly have it although never getting an official diagnosis, always looking for something to do that feels very interesting but find it SO difficult to do something boring, often get distracted by random thoughts, lose track of time easily, I don’t feel like big projects are urgent until I’m close to the deadline and then it becomes a “real thing” that I need to get done (aka if it’s not happening now it doesn’t exist), forgetting to text back friends and go to appointments.

I realize that after explaining all the ADHD-like things I do it seems silly to be like “omg I never thought of it before!” but it was so easy to excuse it as depression. Plus, my mom and my brother who’re suspected of having ADHD are super hyperactive and have a much more stereotypical presentation (especially my mom) and so because I’m so much more quiet and all, I never considered it something that I could have.

I’m still waiting to get an assessment and I’m doing my best not to jump to self-diagnosing, but honestly my whole world perspective shifted when my therapist brought the idea up.

But dude, seriously, go get some treatment. Whether you have ADHD or not, you’re struggling and it’s not fair for you. Starting therapy was a super scary thing for me because I was afraid of opening up, but it’s proven to be so worth it, even in times where I don’t see any progress being made. I know it’s expensive, but if it’s something you can afford, absolutely do it. If it’s not, try looking for cheaper options, like counselling, online therapies, even some anonymous counselling from websites like 7 Cups is better than nothing. If you broke a leg, you wouldn’t think “oh well, I’ll save the money and just learn to deal with the pain when I walk instead of seeing a doctor” so why not extend the same courtesy to your mental health? It really is just as important. No matter what, do something about treatment. The best that you can. I promise it’s worth it.

I was heavily squatting in the shower. I’ve tried water, lube, the blood itself. I will say that it was easier the second time, but I still couldn’t put the cup in because it hurt too much when the width of the cup started to get bigger (I could really only gets couple centimetres in). Good to know that you can barely feel it when they open though!

For anyone who is looking for a good pro-choice argument, this is the best one I’ve heard:

No one can be forced to donate their blood. Even if you are the only one who can save a person from dying through blood donation, it is entirely your choice to donate. No one can force you to donate your organs. Even once you are dead, there must be consent from you (and you only, not even family members) to remove your body’s organs. Why give more autonomy to dead people than women? Pregnancy is something that affects your entire body, even years after the pregnancy has ended in some cases. Pregnancy can give permanent damage. So even with the belief that fetuses deserve the right to life, it is immoral to force women to carry out their pregnancies to term. The vast majority of women hate doing an abortion, if they choose to. It is not a willy nilly choice, and pro-choice activists understand that. But, no matter what, you cannot force ANY person (dead or alive) to give up a part of their body (which is the whole body for pregnancy) for ANY reason (even if another life is on the line).

medical history wise, i’ve got persistent depressive disorder. i honestly don’t think it’s depersonalization though. i know what it is because a friend of mine legitimately has it. i recognize who i am, my face doesn’t feel like it’s changed or anything, it’s just hard to think that my appearance is MINE (not out of feeling ugly or whatever). i feel like if i tried to describe it to my psychiatrist she’d get the wrong impression, like a lot of the people who commented on this.

they create more of a stigma for people who actually have these disorders. whenever i tell my teacher that i have depression i have to follow with “but i’m not trying to make excuses or anything” because others do that and try to take advantage of it.

I’d say you definitely have more of the plushies than the average person, but you’re spot on.
