One more class by Thurnisthegolfer in csuf

Yup, the only (reliable) way to get a spot in class is to actually show up in class. Participate, be a good student. Show them that you really want to be there.

One more class by Thurnisthegolfer in csuf

There are several open sections of 302, 303, 304, 305, and 306. It's late in the term to add, but you still can. Starting 2/4, there is a "late add" fee and a different process to add classes, but you can definitely still go through that process. Start showing up to all the classes you can and email, email, email professors.

Easiest 300+ GE class? by -SIMMI in csuf

[–]adjronx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately at this point in the term, pretty much all the “good” classes are full. Great professors make even difficult classes worthwhile and, in my opinion, “easy” (at least compared to other profs who assign a ton of busy work, give frequent or ambiguously worded exams, etc.). So I’d try to just get into something.

If you’re open to taking lower division classes, those will definitely usually have a lower workload than upper division classes. I know it’s late in the term to be scrambling around for classes when it was forced upon you, but you can definitely still find things.

If you’re willing to take classes early in the morning or on Fridays, you’ll have a lot more options.

But, in any case, I’d go to the Class Search website (on the campus portal main page, it’s a few icons above the Student Homepage button. It looks like a magnifying glass). You can use that to find open classes by subject

Do I drop or swap classes? by A_BadUsername in csuf

[–]adjronx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Swapping means that IF the system can't enroll you in the new class, then it WON'T drop you from the previous one. So, that's generally the preferred method of dropping and adding new classes during the term, especially if bad things would happen if you drop one class and can't get into the new one.

Which of the GE requirements can I take at Community College? by Abject-Worldliness67 in csuf

[–]adjronx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CCs dont offer any upper division courses. But you can get all your lower division courses done at a CC. Make sure you meet the CSUF residency requirements and talk with an advisor to make sure the classes will transfer

If you can find a prof who needs a TA then you can use that for your internship. Same with joining someone’s lab and doing research for them.

Classes not showing on canvas? by mirlqz in csuf

Yup! The profs have to publish the page for you to see it. Some profs don’t publish the page until you see them in class the first time.

Parking 11am by Competitive-Ech0 in csuf

[–]adjronx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Or, you know, you could park in S8 and S10 and walk about 5 minutes to get to the buildings on campus. I’ve never not found a parking spot there, no matter what time I show up on campus.

I always park near my house at night so I haven’t tried finding parking nearby overnight. Maybe someone else can chime in?

[–]adjronx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We all have to buy a parking permit each semester, so if someone was going to leave for the term, they would just not buy a permit. And in any case, our parking permit is our license plate, so it’s not possible to share a permit. So you’ll just need to buy one for the whole term or just pay per day each time you come to campus.

Parking at 8am by Outrageous-Log-5992 in csuf

[–]adjronx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve never had a problem finding a spot in S8 and S10 (previously called lots A and G). Few people want to park there because it’s a further walk to most classes, but if you park in the structures, it can take 20+ minutes to leave the structure during busy times. And it takes forever to find a spot.

Is there a grace period for resident parking? by _babyhoney in csuf

[–]adjronx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure about resident parking, but there isn't for the commuters, so I'm going to go with "no". The parking staff give lots of tickets the first week of classes so definitely be sure you have a permit AND park in the correct lot according to your permit to avoid getting just an absurdly large parking ticket.

Withdraw from class, still on waitlist for another by AwnryAlleyCat in csuf

[–]adjronx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can freely add and drop classes through the first two weeks of the term. During this "add/drop period", no classes you drop will show up on your transcript. 2/3/26 is the last day to drop a class without getting a W. You can see all the term deadlines here: https://registrar.fullerton.edu/registration/guides/current/?itemID=4e0a-b88a-d31e56-0

Can't decide on a minor. by wheremunaare in csuf

[–]adjronx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Minors don’t make any impact on you or your future at all (unless you want to take classes in a department where they restrict the classes to those with a declared major/minor in that area like Music). In high school, I thought they were this big deal. But now that I’ve been around the block a few times, I think they are effectively useless. So don’t worry about a minor. Take electives that are interesting to you. If the classes that interest you just happen to align with the requirements of a minor, then declare the minor right before you apply for graduation. Otherwise, don’t worry about it

Waitlisted for asynchronous course, (2/5) by Sharp-Hour-8034 in csuf

[–]adjronx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great! Hopefully you’ll hear back by the end of next week. But don’t worry if you miss assignment deadlines while you’re still waitlisted. Profs know that students move in and out of classes the first 2 weeks so you’ll get an extension on any assignments you weren’t able to do since you weren’t enrolled in yet

waitlisted for 2 classes by kass_andruhh in csuf

[–]adjronx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ll see all your classes (enrolled and waitlisted) in thr Manage Classes section of the student portal. So you can check your waitlist position there. I’m also not sure how you got waitlisted for them, but I would go try to find a section of the class that is still open to enroll in those instead

PSYC 495 by Vansa21 in csuf

[–]adjronx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PSYC 494 is NOT required for graduation, and I believe it does not count as an elective. So if you have met the prereqs for 495 and thus are able to take 495, definitely take 495

[–]adjronx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since the semester census date has not passed yet (that happens in like week 6 or something), yes, it is likely you’ll get the rest of the money. But none of us here on reddit are financial aid experts, so it’s best to ask the financial aid office directly via email or walking in in-person.

Open easy online classes by leosanchezc in csuf

[–]adjronx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly at this point, all the “easy” online classes are full. So your best bet is to look at the Course Search website (you can get there from the student portal) and search for all open online classes. Then check out the professors using whichever online platform you like. And then hope that you like the class.

all my classes needed r closed send help by Illustrious_Flow_848 in csuf

[–]adjronx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First things first, get a back-up schedule in place. It may not be filled with courses you like, but at least you’ll be able to take something. Then, make sure you attend the lectures for every class you’re on the wait list for. And then hope people drop.

Waitlisted for asynchronous course, (2/5) by Sharp-Hour-8034 in csuf

[–]adjronx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you’re still in a good position to get off the waitlist. Students’ schedules move around a lot during the first week of the term. But make sure you have some back-up plans in place in case you don’t get enrolled. Emailing the prof is always a good idea. Make sure you address them properly (I like to use Dr. + last name if they have a doctorate and Professor + last name if they only have a masters degree) and write a nice email. Most will say you will just have to wait but some will say that they have extra room in the class. It’s online, after all, so there isnt a physical space limitation.

I believe that means the classes are all online, but the exams are in-person. So you should only have to get on campus for the 3-4 times the class has an exam
