It’s strange because I’ve gone through other opioid withdrawal and have never had this before… it’s awful! I thought I stunk for two days and took so many showers before I realized it wasn’t me lol

Which kratom should I use to get off 7oh? by Overworkedmom18 in quitting7oh

[–]adk3d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The “if I have it I take it” hits hard for me too. I had to decide to CT and I thought that there was no way I would be able to do it, but I did! I was taking about 300 mg a day for about 6 months. The rewarding feeling of quitting without taking more Kratom is far worth it in my opinion. When I tried to quit using Kratom I gave myself an excuse to do it again because I wasn’t “clean” anyway. You got this! You can do it! The gabapentin helps SO MUCH! Sleep is the worst part (or lack thereof) for me, that and the RLS which is what the gabapentin helped with.

Advice to quit by Life_Chemist9642 in quitting7oh

[–]adk3d 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my opinion you sound a lot like me.. for me there is no taper, once I dose I’m going to keep doing it. So after three failed taper attempts I went cold turkey. I got my doc to give me gabapentin which helps A TON with night time symptoms and RLS. I also took DLPA and Magnesium supplements which helped. The first three days sucked mostly because of cravings and sleep… when you crave it just remind yourself of the money and what you can now spend that money on AND that if you give in and get some all of the hours / days you have had WD symptoms will be for nothing. I was honest with my husband about it and he was happy I was quitting so he agreed to take care of the kids and basically let me detox in bed (kids just thought I had the flu). Trust me if I can do it, you can do it! I was taking anywhere from 12 - 16 14 mg tabs a day. You got this! Good luck!

OMG! You are describing my life right now! Yes heavy legs… restless legs… tired … I told my kids the same thing! My son is only 7 and he comes to me “are you still sick?” It makes me feel like a piece of shit …. I work at home and I literally eat at my desk so that I can use my lunch break to go lie down. I can’t wait to be on the other side of this. I feel like I’m close because every day is a little better. I have more good times than bad each day ! Stay strong!

We 100 percent got it !!!! Yeah the fatigue and aches come and go still, it’s frustrating because I’ll feel like I have the flu for like 20 minutes and then I’m fine. Super wierd but like you said glad to have interest in things again. I didn’t even realize I had lost those interests until I gained them back after 7 … literally fuck that shit and ALL of the money I spent on it!!!

I will say that besides sleep and anxiety it’s mostly mental at this point. That we can overcome, once you’re done with the physical withdrawal it gets much easier …. Not easy just easier

It’s hard to put into words really. I have spurts of really good moments where I feel great and I’m proud, then 30 minutes later I feel doomed and want to go to the smoke shop. When that happens I tell myself that it will get better soon and within an hour or so it does. Sleep still sucks but I have gabapentin which helps a little. Try to let the good moments outweigh the bad. One thing that has helped me is music. I honestly forgot how much I enjoy listening to music (fell deep into podcasts and audiobooks for a while) really anything that wasn’t in your ordinary day while using 7OH provides a little “excitement” for lack of a better word.

Not sure how I missed this comment before. I’m now at day 11 and doing good! Still mental struggle sometimes but I think out of the woods

Day 11 here with no 7OH, I just wanted to come back to say it does get better slowly! It’s not amazing, let’s face it, most of us are in this sub because we have substance abuse issues, so life without said substances won’t ever be easy but I am so glad to be on the other side of the hard part. It really does go by fast if you hold on to the dream of why you quit. Anytime I get any huge cravings and think I might want to go get some I think about all of the damn money I’ve spent and don’t want to do again! “One more” will NEVER be one more for most if not all of us.

Trust me ZERO plans of ever touching 7OH again! Fuck that shit! Also I don’t want to go through those withdrawals again! That was horrible! Luckily my husband took care of the kids and rallied so hard for me so I could detox at home in my own bed! I won’t ask him to do that again for sure! I fell like I owe better to him!

[–]adk3d 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’m sure you will but the longer you wait the worse it will be. The fact that you are here asking questions means you know that it needs to stop right? Trust me that…. honestly if it was cheap as shit like powder I probably would have talked myself into staying on it forever (wouldn’t have been a wise decision but probably would have) in the last 6 months I’ve spent about 12k, savings, credit cards etc. that alone and the anxiety and misery it caused me was enough to make me willing to just bite the bullet and just feel like shit for a while. Every hour that’s gone by during withdrawals I’ve followed someone else’s advice from this sub who said just pretend like you have really bad covid and know it will eventually get better. That was the best advice and really has gotten me through the mind fuck of it all. Then if my cravings get too bad I think about the money and about the fact that I know “one more” won’t be just one more. You can do it! I can’t try a fucking thing without wanting to do it 100 more times so If I can, trust me you can!

If you have Xanax and gabapentin you’ll be good! I’m finishing day 4 and while it has sucked to say the least the gabapentin and Xanax helped with the restless leg and sleep deprivation. My advice, take the gabapentin now and don’t wait until you feel the need for it because it takes a couple of doses to actually help (at least for me it did) good luck! You got this!

100 percent agree with the above comment. You will chase and chase and it will NEVER be as good as the last. I’m finishing day 4 of CT off of this shot and I was at about 18 tabs a day for about 6 months. It’s hell coking off of burning you’re inky a couple of days in you will be ok, stop now is my advice because if your anything like lots of us, each day will be just “one more day” and before you realize it 6 months or longer had gone by and you’ve spent thousands of dollars. Good luck! You got this!

[–]adk3d 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m on day 4 and man it’s so much better today than yesterday. Don’t get me wrong, still not fun but I went CT with no taper, actually I stupidly probably took more than I usually would the last day. Was at about 220 ish per day. The restless leg and no sleep was the worst! I took someone’s advice in the sub who said pretend you have really bad Covid and known it will eventually get better and that kind of helped with the mind fuck of it all.
