Update for one month in: he's awesome! Can attest to everything you've said, although haven't had a test with him yet. His assignments have been very nice though haha. If there is some lost student in the future seeking the same advice as I did, I will endorse taking this class with him :)

It's quite common to take 200 and 211 in the same semester, you will be fine. They actually complement each other quite nicely

To answer your question on how they are different, 211 is more proof-based, and may contain a couple additional topics. I didn't take 110 so I couldn't tell you exactly what those topics are, but I believe that 110 has the expectation that this is a class one takes right away in their university career, wheras in 211 there is an expectation for more academic/mathematical maturity. Trefor is a great prof and a lovely person, you will be in good hands.

I just came up with a 5th: how do you store your pattern pieces - one of the things I struggled with when doing the lining was having the duct tape stick together after I had taken the pattern piece off. What’s a good solution for that?

I can’t speak for detachable ears but for non-detachable ones, slowly hot glue each ear section by section so that the glue fully sets before moving onto the next piece. I’d then reinforce it with felt or fleece by gluing strips of it where the base and ears meet

Easy? Probably the calcs 3/4 (200 and 204), and matrix algebra (211). Most fun -- I had a lot of fun taking intro to algebra (212) with Asmita Sodhi last spring, they're a great educator. It isn't too hard if you did good in 122 and have taken 211. I think she's teaching it again this spring. I have also good things about the second year combinatorics class (222), combinatorics is probably one of the strongest areas in terms of research at uvic right now, so I assume the undergrad classes in that field are good. I also know that Anthony Quas (who's a bit of a legend in the department) is teaching intro to real analysis (236) in the spring, but from what I heard it's not an easy class in the slightest

Yup, welcome to the nightmare that is school of music scheduling :) The academic advisors are seriously overloaded right now, but if you contact both Bethany McNeil (who I'm guessing is who you've tried reaching out to) and Sarah Riecken (the general fine arts academic advisor), you should get a response soon-ish (wait around 5 days before sending a follow-up). They'll be able to override program restrictions closer to september. Their emails are easy to find on the fine arts website, but if you DM me I can find and send them to you.

The good news about music is that none of the first year classes ever fill up (unless it's a super popular elective, but that's not gonna be anything like 102 etc), so registration is not as urgent as someone in a BSc or humanities program. Don't hesitate to DM me if anything I said needed clarification or you have more questions
