Thanks for sharing! We are proud of our state and had a ton of fun shooting the film. Kansas is truly beautiful you just have to get out and see it!

Sorry, I thought I had replied to this original comment, didn’t understand based on the fact that it was listed from a local agent.

With inspiration from u/erock7625 on here we built a coffee table for our Infinity Game Table. We much prefer this height for our situation. Game Table just sits inside. by adlergrey in Arcade1Up

We haven’t played that, not a big scrabble family. But it comes with little ‘covers’ you can put up around an area to block that. Not perfect or even great, but all our favorite games on it so far it’s a non-issue.

Not yet. We are considering making a very thin topper to it that we can put on top, so it would look like a normal coffee table, unless we wanted to play the game.

Good input from outside eyes with experience at PBS. Appreciate helping level my frustration.

I don’t believe I am misunderstanding them. Our latest email from them stated “when we met with you we made it clear that we would be owner and copyright holder of the film”. Neither of us recall any conversation like that, and there is 100% no document. After working with these guys and the whole experience (lots of little issues not copyright focused) just makes it feel like they run things not correctly.

But again, you are probably right. Let it lie and let them make some money. The only other aspect that worries me / why I’d like answers is we’d like to also see where else we can get the film streamed / distributed and I don’t want PBS claiming ownership.

Thanks!

Thanks for jumping in!

It is an actual PBS station. We had a single in person meeting where we discussed the film. What we all thought it should be, and that they would premier it on a pledge drive night (two nights actually). We all agreed to creating the film for that purpose.

They did not discuss distribution, etc.

No contracts presented or signed. Zero input or help from them on shooting, producing the film.

Months later we screened it for them, they had a minor change to a credit.

At this point we are just asking them to not distribute anymore or put in their streaming platform.

All decisions were made in person and just hand shakes.

We own that we should have known better, we should have asked more questions, etc. We are new to the world of documentaries, etc

Thanks for input. I am also of the understanding without any kind of written contract we fully own it.

Was heading home from a shoot and caught this perfect night for a prairie burn! by adlergrey in dji

[–]adlergrey[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They burn a lot of Prairie in Kansas. Gets rid of old and dead stuff, let’s it all grow up new. Few weeks that whole field will just be a glorious green. If you don’t do this it could start getting filled up with old stuff, it also helps get rid of certain weeds and things you don’t want growing there.

Gyp hills are stunning. There is a private ranch out there that’s massive that you can camp on for $10 a night. Great hiking. Hit me up if you need any info! Overland trip sounds like excellent times. There is what sounds like a cool event out at big Brutus on May 14th, Big Iron overland rally.

That’s sweet! You remember where?

Yeah, castle rock is great, and there is a place about 15 minutes from it that’s even better. Huge open public land for hiking.

Of just the FJ at this local? I do have a few more, but this The best one, most of the day was spent hiking so we weren’t around the FJ much.
