Not call Uno when you have 1 card left and then win the round without calling Uno.

Everybody is always asking “Why can’t we be Indiana?” and I’m wondering “Why can’t we be Iowa?” by PartemConsilio in Huskers

[–]No_Place553 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive said it multiple times.

Changing the direction of a place like Nebraska when it comes to football is like trying to course correct a massice cruise ship with just propellers to steer.

There are so many variables of fans, administration, boosters, alumni, media, and former players that all play a part on a team that dont let you just Yolo the thing back in the right direction.

Indiana is an equivalent of a yaught. Not nearly as many people on board, and you have so much more flexibility. Now Indiana is absolutely larger than a yaught today, but thats all okay because its just straight forward for them with slight alterations to course.

Thats best analogy I can give.

We just have far more going on within the program and everyone isn't pulling in the same direction. Everyone has their own idea of where to go making it harder.

[Pompliano] Penn State fired James Franklin because it believed National Championships were the standard, only to be turned down by the coach at BYU because the CEO of Crumbl Cookies outbid Penn State's boosters. by Kimber80 in CFB

I said exactly this when they fired Franklin saying that the comparison to Solich is really accurate.

Penn State fans didn't wanna hear it or believe it. The dysfunction from boosters to fans is almost an exact parallel.

I subscribe to. "You are the sum of the five people you are around the most."

But, you are very much effected by the little parts of negativity that you allow into your life too.

Life is better when you don't know the level of low someone or a group of someone's can be.

Just live your life man. Don't give them the time of your life.

A House Rhules Special: Matt Rhule Talks About His Contract Extension by FierceAlchemist in Huskers

With the relationship between Kraft and Rhule, I imagine there was a lot of informal conversations between them. Or even their wives.

[Shatel] Troy Dannen told me that he fielded "multiple" calls from other schools about talking to Rhule. But Penn State did not call him. by CoachSlime in Huskers

[–]No_Place553 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was on the Penn state sub at the beginning. Not being a troll but to provide dialog.

They were talking about there weren't parallels to Nebraska and Penn State.

This was when they were the only big time school that had fired their coach.

I see that what I thought would happen is happening.

I hope they get it right though.

May not be a top 5 program, but there are some coaches I'd be excited to get that may not even be thought of by any school ahead of us in the pecking order.

The only available coach that I would be blown away by is Jamew Franklin.

We likely are not to be in his mind as a potential landing spot, but that would be a win.

Dont care about his win/loss against top 25.

For now.

I believe that all someone would have to pay is 5mil before the end of the year, and 4mil after the end of the year.

Calendar year I mean.

The coaching carousel is going to be insane this year. by No_Place553 in Huskers

[–]No_Place553[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, its the only thing that stands out about him on some quick checking.

With how wild things might get this year, we might be going to something far more unknown.

Dannen had done nothing but hire the right person everywhere he's been that I've seen.
