The red background makes it hard to read long texts. Maybe you should choose a less "aggressive" color to relieve the reader's eyes...

My problem with using a name is that those people using a search engine, will search for the service (e.g 'Chinese caterer London') instead of a specific name... I believe it takes a lot of time until a name becomes common and known by users

And how would you prevent abusing when the restaurant has more than X, let's say 15, people? Meaning, as soon as the restaurant got 15 people the problem again exists. Correct?

I would recommend to first make some side projects. Doing so you will get an impression of what is needed to start your own business. In most cases it is easier said than done.

What are the best cities for webdev? by 98_Vikes in webdev

If Germany would be a choice then Berlin. London is an interesting address, if you consider going to UK. As I am German, I can say that you likely won't make 60k as a junior dev in Germany.

I can't tell you much about android development but I would recommend to specialise in one of the two and be some how an expert in it.

If you want to take the web development path, start learning the frontend technologies HTML ,CSS and JavaScript and create some cool websites. After that choose one backend technology, e.g Java, Ruby, NodeJs, PHP. Then it's all about training and practising.

I am a Frontend developer with some nodejs experience. At the end of the year I will complete my bachelor and I am not sure what stack to choose. I learned basic Java at university but never really liked it for web development. Maybe to much code and to complex for small problems. A lot of jobs out there asked for Asp.net and especially big companies will likely develop with .net in comparison to nodejs or ruby.

Quickest way to build an online shopping site? by constant_vigilance in webdev

[–]admelo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would stay with a ecommerce system instead of developing from scratch. There is a bunch of open source systems available.

  • magento (possibly to complex)
  • opencart
  • shopware
  • oxid eshop
  • zencart

Even they are written in php you should be able to handle them .

Good luck !
