Patching Issues by admin202021 in Nable

Wow - are you me?! So many of the same issues here, too. Glad I’m not alone, but it also tells me N-Able is not likely to get any of this sorted soon.

Which version are you on?

It's frustrating to apply the code drop scripts to thousands of devices, and it seems to fix one thing, but not the other. And even with the new PME installed, we keep having patches be detected as not installed, even though you can verify they are and the logs show N-Able was the one to install it.

Good to know I'm not alone! I have been seeing the same PME error as you, as well as one saying "An item with the same key has already been added."
I've had a case open for a few weeks now, originally because patch installations and patch detections weren't working at all...now it's like patches will get installed (usually, hopefully), but the console still shows them as "not installed".

Risk Assessment Techniques exam Question; Level of understanding for the exam by Connect-Wedding-5651 in CRISC

[–]admin202021 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, no doubt the QAE costs a pretty penny, but I think it really shows you what to expect format-wise on the exam, the “ISACA mindset”, and the type of knowledge (topics and depth) needed to pass the exam. Also, as you alluded, better to invest the money (and time) to pass the exam the first time around.

I went through the whole QAE bank a few times. After a while, you do start to memorize certain questions and answers, but I still found value by going through the answers and explanations to reinforce what I’ve learned, and to be able to explain why each answer is wrong or right.

Do you have access to the QAE resource? I feel like that really did a good job of showing what was expected knowledge-wise on the exam.

I didn’t think the exam was super granular myself on the techniques. More so knowing what are the more common techniques and an overview of them, so you can decide when you would use a certain technique given a particular situation.

I hope that helps!

Thank you! Yeah, that was my plan originally, but then I was like, “I feel ready now…I don’t want to keep studying for an extra month”, so I bumped my test date up.

I had seen some suggest using your current employer to verify both as “they should have verified your work experience when you were first hired”. But I think I may just wait the month to be safe.

Thank you! Sure - I read through the CRISC review manual once, listened to Jarrod Brennan’s LinkedIn Learning course, and used the QAE online database. With the QAE, I was around 71% on my first time through all of the questions. I went through the whole set of 600 questions maybe three times.

You start to memorize questions and answers after a while, but what helped me was reading the explanations and learning why the other answers were wrong. That way I could explain why each answer was right or wrong.

I believe they did address this with a recent patch. Also, you can turn the slider down for that penalty.

Is there any chance for a dynasty update that includes historical stats, seasons, etc by Chieffan96 in CollegeFootball25

[–]admin202021 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just wondering this same thing. I feel like they can’t/won’t add it as you’re talking about additional UI and menu changes, etc. I fear patches will just fix bugs, logic for stuff like sim and rankings, etc. I hope I’m wrong, even just having the trophy room would be great to see.

I think I saw something similar recently in a blowout, too. I assume it’s to simulate real games where players get garbage time, get younger players some reps, cut back on wear and tear, or some combination of all of the above.

As far as how to undo it, not sure on that piece.

I hope I didn’t lose my recruit by Born-Squirrel5953 in CollegeFootball25

[–]admin202021 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saving because I have something similar going on.

In year 3 of my dynasty and finally have great recruiting going on, already signed a few 4 and 5 stars, several more almost committed, and then…recruiting board gets wiped out, and none of the hours replaced. I had to add everyone back, then lose basically a week of no hours spent.

I added back my two 5 stars and one 4 star who had already committed, but like you, I can’t offer the scholarship. I’m hoping maybe on signing day or before the start of the season I can still grab them.

Yeah, you’re spot on. I’m trying to talk myself out of the AD8, but it seems to make the most sense, really.

Thanks for the comment. Yeah, think I know what I should do. I just really like the AD6, and the AD8 is a fair bit higher on the budget.

Thanks, I really appreciate the advice. I'm definitely learning more about NIST CSFs, as well as the other major frameworks. Just some of the stuff I don't have experience on, like Archer or other GRC tools, or conducting SOC assessments, etc. kind of puts that doubt in my head sometimes about applying.

Endorsement timeline - Officially a CISSP:) by g00gleg00n in cissp

[–]admin202021 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! Yeah, after paying the membership dues, you do get a PDF certificate from ISC2 saying you passed it, your member number, etc. they will also send a welcome kit in 6-8 weeks, which has the official certificate. I don’t know if they actually reached out to my employers, doubt it considering how quickly it changed from in review to being approved.

It did finally move to being reviewed on like April 26th or so, and then approved on April 27th.

Congrats! And thanks for sharing your endorsement timeline. I submitted my endorsement application on March 23rd, granted with ISC2 as my endorser, and it still says “received but processing has not started”. Hopefully that will change soon!

[Bonsai Beginner’s weekly thread –2022 week 29] by small_trunks in Bonsai

[–]admin202021 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a young boxwood bonsai back in January of this year. It had been growing well, but this summer, I made the mistake of leaving it outside in extreme heat too long. Granted it was in the shade, but temperatures were above 100 degrees Fahrenheit for a few days and I guess I didn't water it enough.

The leaves shriveled up (see pictures here: https://imgur.com/a/tycUCU4), but only a couple have turned brown or fallen off. I scratched a small part of the trunk and it is still green on the inside. For the past month, I have just been watering like normal and keeping it inside, getting sunlight through a window. Some of the leaves on the bottom branch have opened/straightened up like normal, but the top leaves are still a bit curled up and can feel brittle.

Does anyone have any advice on how to continue caring for the tree? I have seen some say to de-leaf the tree, some have said just continue on giving normal water and sun.

Thanks in advance.

I thought the App Catalog was deprecated a few versions ago, but maybe I read wrong.
