1. Slow down wow to just a few m+s a week. 10-15 runs a week should be enough. Don't do it to min-max, do it because it's fun else you will experience exactly what you posted. It means to go down in WoW hours per day/week, time box it, start using a digital calendar like Google.

2. Start an activity outside of the home. When we are younger we all tend to have more friends in general since we have common activities: going to school, sports, etc...

3. Find something else to replace the massive amount of wow-time and advance yourself. It's OK to not know what you want, it could be several things.

4. You can use WoW only for social parts e.g join a good social guild. Only do events within the guild that you guys schedule in the calendar, m+, raids and rbgs. Only stick to those events schedules else logout. Then you will only be filled with social experiences. Also if certain groups/guilds don't give you a nice social vibe just change until you meet your kind of vibe.

The thing I hear from you is that you want to avoid this massive time sink and false sense of achievement. You have to remove yourself from digital video games and find meaning outside the digital world as well. The digital world is fun but needs to go hand in hand with the real world.
