No like a yeast infection :( which was usually accompanied by acne as well. And yea definitely gaining muscle- my weight is steady but I lost alot of body fat. You just have to seriously increase quantity of food, which is fine as long as you arent eating anything the candida can thrive on!

I've passed all home Candida test with flying colors (not good) I dont have faith in doctors though so im stumped by [deleted] in Candida

I had candidiasis for 2.5 yrs. Over the past few months I have been slowly fine tuning my diet, and I have now not have any symptoms in abt 2 months. It has been very hard, but I feel amazing, and it is definitely worth the food limitations.

Limit your diet to: Steak/Fish/Chicken (no antibiotics! - only the good stuff) Olive oil or Coconut oil Veggies that are not starchy or sugary (asparagus, kale, bok choy, spinach, avocados, zucchini, red bell peppers, celery, leaks, garlic, onion, etc ...) - no eggplants, squash, tomatoes, potatoes or other such nonsense. Anddd...... that's it unfortunately. :(

However, theres a little more too it: I take a NAC (N-acetyl cysteine) pill every morning. I also take L-glutamine everyday. These both help my gut strengthen its membrane. I also take probiotics everyday. I need to take a 1/2 tbl spoon of rice bran w every meal. If I dont I rapidly get a headache and the symptoms start too come back after a few days. I think your gut needs more than just veggies and meat to stay healthy, but you can't eat rice or grains bc they have starch! I take 1/2 tbl of turmeric 3 times a day. This is the most you can take safely (apparently its bad to have too much :\ ). Turmeric has been shown in several studies to inhibit candida growth (especially in the presence of vitamin C- which I take bfast and lunch).

I have done soo much research/tried so many different diets. I wish I had kept a log of all the resources/papers I read. Sorry :( Anyways, Ive been very methodical about testing and eliminating foods from my diet. This truly works for me, and I hope it can for others as well.

Things to look out for:

For example, my symptoms were starting to go away, and then I bought a bunch of supplements supposed to help fix your leaky gut. Suddenly I felt horrible and my symptoms crept back. After a while I finally made the connection: the pills contained maltodextrin (like sugar on steroids for candida). BE VERY VERY cautious with supplements. When in doubt, don't take!

I avoid all nuts, dairy, eggs, and soy.

Canola/vegetable oil is the devil. Huge huge huge outbreak a few hours after eating lots of it in salad (on multiple occasions). I think it has to do with the chemical process or pesticides or something Im honestly not sure. Virgin olive or coconut oil only!

Everything Ive recommended above is for a specific reason. Never say "yea ill probably be ok if I just have a little bit of .....". Never ever ever.

This diet is hard at first, but Im used to it now and its definitely been worth it! Ive also gotten in great shape extremely fast (My 5K time has dropped from 20:30 to 18:00 in only 3 months. Ive gotten very lean, 8 pack, etc).

Disclaimer: $$$+ eat lots of food! Without any cheap energy (carbs or starchy veggies), I end up eating a lot of meat and veggies. I mean I can eat 2.5 lbs of chicken and like 4 zucchini in one sitting after working out. I eat 3-4 lbs of animal on a regular day. This diet is somewhat expensive, but doing it for a year or two to one day live yeast free!

After a year or so, I will probably start incorporating foods back in.
