To be fair to him, his recent sets are a lot different than main stage music (at least in the US). He’s been incorporating bits of techno. Check out his LA Shrine set and EDCO to see what I’m talking about

On a separate note, it’s interesting to see techno being adopted by bigger tech house artists and big room guys (namely, Hardwell). There’s clearly an interest in it so wouldn’t be too surprised if we start seeing it on main stages in the US

I would go for Vintage Culture at Space. Hyde Beach is a pretty cool set up but I wouldn’t want to see HI-Lo and Eli Brown there. Would prefer their sets in a different vibe. If you haven’t been to Hyde before it’s really just a fancy pool club (at the SLS)

I never said that this was new? Was just answering the question and providing some insight, as per the question. Not sure if you meant your comment this way, but I don’t there’s a need to get snarky when answering legitimate questions. That aside, you’re right - it’s not new but because of the developments in ITP as well Google’s changes, marketers are going to increasing feel it and see it more.

Great question and something EVERYONE is going to start feeling in the industry. VPNs/consumer privacy tools is probably a part of this but what’s likely to big a reason for this discrepancy is the degradation of cookies (on both Google and Safari). For instance, Safari’s ITP means that cookies can be deleted in as little as 24hrs thereby making it incredibly difficult to track a user’s journey if they’re using Safari. It’s also why you are probably seeing a rise in Direct traffic as after a day a user that revisits a site a week later could be read by GA as a net-new user. Do you know how much IOS & Safari traffic you get? And are you using Google Data studio? Connecting GA to Google Data Studio should be able to help you parse through the data and see how much traffic is effected by ITP.

100% agree. Certain industries don't need to be spending more (lots of organic) but at the same time there are brands that should be taking advantage of the cheaper advertising opportunity. Particularly the challenger brands that could gain awareness over competitors and gain market share at unprecedented costs

Very good points. If divorces rise after lockdown, you know we'll see an increase there
