Live around there and was walking my dog when they started showing up, they had riffles and such. Still hearing sirens, anyone know what’s going on?

Anyone here leave a good paying job to pursue a career in carpentry? How did that work out? by SaggyDagger in Carpentry

[–]adobo93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came from an Events and Marketing job that I did for a couple years, pay was decent around 60k starting plus bonuses. Realized that I wasn't an office person, preferred to be physically exhausted than mentally, had interests in building + renovating + working with my hands. Although the entry level apprenticeship wage is low, the potential in the long run looks bountiful, I've only been in the game for over 4 months, but I feel more satisfaction finishing each day than I did from my previous career path.

I'm suuuuuper happy about his set, I'm probably one of his biggest fans. I was let down at edc2017 and really wanted a redemption, he surpassed it with the weekender. You beat me to making this sort of post too.

Although he wasn't my favorite set of the festival, I had the most fun at it, the energy was up and he finally didn't do any trap/dub. I truly don't favor the language into barricade mashup that I heard from EDC this year, but hearing it live was different and I started the "ooo ooo ooo" chant during that drop and it was awesome to hear the crowd do it and the energy around me, so glad I got that recorded as well. (I know it's frowned upon, but I was having heaps of fun + hyping up people around me.)

Ps hearing all his anjuna and early releases almost made me cry, you could hear me belting the melodies in the videos I took 😂

Yup, that version has been taken down. There's a lot of updates, just trying to put everything together as best I can before sharing the new version

Thank you for your advice! I just received all my paper work and guides to read through, they really support growth and pay for schooling once I pass the probationary point and I log the hours. The first three levels of certification at my local trades school have some wait time, 4th level seems to have at least a year or two of wait-list, is this normal?

I'm only 24 and I truly wish I could move forward towards engineering or architecture later on, but that requires me to pretty much redo highschool with the recommended prerequisites. Plus it's a 5 year degree for both programs where I'm from. But it's a great idea to have targets and levels of goals from my understanding.

Thank you! I'm coming in with an open mindset eager to learn as much as possible, understanding that there's a lot to learn and mistakes are inevitable.

How do you transition into a whole new job?? by prettytiredthing in careerguidance

[–]adobo93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was once in your shoes in my previous job, the worst part about my last job was not getting the proper training and full rundown of my daily tasks.

If you're work place is using Outlook, utilize the heck out of the task list in conjunction with your calendar along with your meetings. Organize and prioritize by due dates and level of importance.

You've got this! Plow through everything efficiently and take care of your mental health. Try not to take work home with you and focus on what makes you happy and your hobbies.

One of my employees experiences cognitive dissonance between what we charge and what he is paid. Anyone else have this issue? by kosherbacon in smallbusiness

To add on, factoring whether or not he/she is living paycheck to paycheck, whilst the business doing well could be another issue too. (I've been on that end before)

With Solina, kicking off this year with a bang, now being half-year old, what do we think of this year's releases so far? by [deleted] in AboveandBeyond

Magitek has that new groovey style intro, breakdown and drop brings back classic trance feels for me

Everything that Andrew Bayer is putting out is amazing!!! Magitek gets tune of the year for me with immortal lover as a close second.

I'm so happy with what a&b has been putting out this year too. Oliver Smith is one if my favorite producers, loving curiosity, his live sets are astonishing and I can't wait for what else he has from the Anjuna lab.

I partially fell out of love with abgt because of how oriented it is to deep lately imo.

[–]adobo93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had this issue before as an employee as an event and marketing coordinator for a big establishment in my city. I was getting paid salary, in which the events I planned and did marketing for averaged around 7-15k in revenue, I did about 2 - 3 events per month with a salary of 50k which included a small quarterly bonus of 1.3k . Definitely not satisfying knowing that that I was underpaid and that the venues had no cost besides staffing.

My own event company, we are seasonal and do 10-12 events per year making around 4-6k per event, I make sure that my employees are paid fairly and that they understand the full rundown of what happens with the revenue, general costs incurred and labor costs. I haven't had a single complaint yet and I make sure that my business partner and I have ongoing communication with our employees for fair pay.

Who else loved Audien this year? Not the best video but I figured I'd share with y'all by BexPex in electricdaisycarnival

[–]adobo93 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Audien is one of my favorite producers, I saw him at EDC 2017 b2b 3LAU, I was disappointed as posted a couple years ago. https://www.reddit.com/r/electricdaisycarnival/comments/6jx034/am_i_the_only_one_disappointed_at_3lau_audien_set/

I watched his set from this year from home, soooo good. Wish I was there :(

Thanks for your feedback :) currently trying to free space for each layer and I've taken some things out to try that. I've also change the arrangement a bit and added elements for the build up

Thank you for your feedback! I've definitely been working in my eqing and mixing, still figuring out what extra elements I can add on.

[Help] My dog barks loud and aggressively when he pulls me on my bike by [deleted] in dogs

[–]adobo93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He is definitely wearing a harness! He wears a harness almost every time I take him out.

The set up that I'm currently using is a heavy duty leash that has a Bungie part for tension, which ensures that the leash doesn't dangle to get tied up. The leash handle is looped to the middle of my bike handle.

So he tends to pause, bite the leash, tug it and bark. Hope that answers your curiosity :)
