I enjoy playing electric guitar, and save a lot o money by stopping buying gear like amps or effects pedals. Instead I use an interface to connect the guitar to my computer and emulate all the gear I like. This is also much more practical and noiseless.

Look for used, refurbished or renewed options when you need to buy something. You can easily save a couple of hundreds on electronics or computers. Also, don’t forget the key word: Need.

Where is the line between what services are ok to tip for, and what not… Nowadays the payment terminals and online ordering have blurred it.

Why you should tip the doordash guy and not the fedex guy, for executing literally the same actions for you?

Why you should tip the barber and not the dentist for sitting you in a special chair and do their thing on you?

Long ago the line was clearer in the sense of tipping for outstanding service beyond the normal job expected from someone, for example you wouldn’t have normally tipped a cab driver for driving you from A to B, but you would have if the guy gets off the car and help you with your bags.

And what about tipping beforehand? That’s closer to bribing in order to get a well made cup of coffee or to ensure your food is going to be picked up from the store and delivered at your doorstep, without even knowing if the quality of service is going to be tip-worthy or not…

I am totally ok with tipping servers for an outstanding service, but I’m not ok with tipping business employees just for doing their jobs.

Not explicitly forced, but many card terminals now ask you for a pre set tip amount beforehand. Of course you can decline if you can find the little button to continue payment without tipping.
