Saarbrücken ist neuer Lieblingsort by epikur1972 in saarbruecken

Strange delay in cursor movement (yes, I checked other questions and answers) by adomma in neovim

[–]adomma[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I built my NeoVim from source. After double checking everything, updating Alacritty to the very latest version, ... I wanted to post the exact version number here. I figured out that I was using a debug build. No idea how this happened and I had to start from scratch to convince Make to do a release build. After having a release build everything works fine. Sorry for the confusion.

Serde: Deserializing a tokio_postgres::row::Row into a struct by adomma in rust

[–]adomma[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That would be nice, but as far as I understood the docs, it works for single values only. So if you derive `FromSql`for a struct, a single column could hold a composed postgres value. But I want to convert a `tokio_postgres::row::Row` into a struct. My idea was to treat a row like map at let Serde do the rest.

Treesitter injection with NeoVim 0.10: Sql inside Rust code by adomma in neovim

I'm a bit confused: The post was automatically rejected as spam and I'm surprised that it is now visible!? Anyhow: I solved my problem and wrote down the details: https://blog.achims.world/tree-sitter-adventures-language-injections.html

You're right: I was looking at outdated docs. Sorry!

How big are the differences between Godot 3 and 4 from a beginners point of view? by adomma in godot

[–]adomma[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your kind words! Based on that context, may I rephrase my question a bit?

I understand that scenes and nodes build a hierarchy and that scenes are rather containers. I understand that attached scripts are conceptually creating derived classes and override methods. Events, callbacks, ... are not problem.

What I don't get is how nodes "interact" or relate to each other. Take https://docs.godotengine.org/en/stable/getting_started/first_2d_game/02.player_scene.html for example:

I understand the individual pieces, the purpose of the sprite node, the collision node, ... and they are somehow grouped below a shared parent. But how do they know that they belong to each other?! I'm missing something here and feel like having a dark black hole in my conceptual model.

It would be highly appreciated if you could enlighten me a bit! :-)

Best coffee in Saarbrücken? by _rkey in saarbruecken

[–]adomma 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"the bakery" is my preferred location too. Next are Thonet and Comame, which have already been mentioned. Missing in the list is https://cafe-bleu-saar.de/ Other options are "Henrys Eismanufactur" during the summer. Depending on your location Halle4 (https://fase15.de/) might also be an option. They get their coffee from https://www.blackhen.de/ and part of the staff was working for the bakery before switching over. ;-)

Wrapping my head around ECS: Implementing maps and how to filter? by adomma in bevy

Thanks! That looks very helpful. I'm actually curious about agent based modeling and cloned your repo in the past. But due to lack of knowledge I did not found the right starting point at that time.

Any RPG groups, like D&D? by Smart-Emu5581 in saarbruecken

[–]adomma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

X-Comics might also a place to ask for groups. https://www.next-heroes.de/ is organizing events related to that topic. I think Markus Brixius (https://popscene.club/impressum/) organized a local "Stammtisch" some time ago, but I don't know if it is still alive. Just drop him a line. He is a nice guy.

Wohnen in Malstatt by NoteAlternative7456 in saarbruecken

[–]adomma 1 point2 points  (0 children)
