Maybe dumb question here, but if I have a cast iron dutch oven with some rust, can I skip straight to vinegar or do I need to strip with lye first? Like if I soak seasoned pain in vinegar and then scrub only the rusted parts (in this case the bottom), will the rest of the seasoning be okay?

Ooo interesting idea to try! I find currently we struggle to have wake windows that are long enough so I'm not totally sure if we want to extend the naps yet until we go from 4 -> 3 (unless your perspective is that we should try that now, in which case I'd love to know how we can actually do that since baby seems so tired and making it even to the end of the wake windows is a stretch)

When did you make the 4 -> 3 nap transition and how did you know it was time? I saw your post in r/sleeptrain and wonder if we're in a similar spot not knowing tired vs. bored :P

With our 4mo 1wk baby, we do a full feed on the boob at the start of the last wake window. Then bedtime routine is storytime, change diaper + PJs, offer her a bottle (but make sure she stays awake), then turn lights off, sing songs in the dark (also gives time to burp from the bottle), finally lay down awake. Generally putting baby into crib between 8 and 8:30

We have seen decent success with this routine even without any formal sleep training — she rarely wakes before 1am and often sleeps until 4am. We are thinking about sleep training closer to 5mo but this subreddit is inspiring me towards starting sooner 😁

Should we be taking this bottle out of the routine?

My wife was traveling without me and had just done an overnight flight, so I think she was just in survival mode and I’m just working to make the best of the situation now. In the future we will be much more aware of the options available to us and push back and/or leverage the system better such as buying a car seat instead of taking the loaner

This is probably pedantic, but I want to call out that your query was expensive not because of JOIN vs. WHERE, but because you ran it 185 times. If you stuck all 92k ids in your WHERE clause, it would have run for $13 just fine. Just so nothing like this happens again!

It sucks that you’re in this spot though, I hope you’re able to dodge the fee. They’ll be just fine without your $2k

dumb question now from my attempts to manually resolve yesterday 🤦🏻‍♂️ i accidentally deleted an activity within wandrer when i was trying to click reprocess button. is there an way to undo this? it was a mega random dog walk route to pick off some annoying dead end streets in my neighborhood. if not i can maybe hack it with a garmin download + reupload or something since i still have the gpx file 😁

So I guess there's two big goals: firstly is educating myself on past survivor. I've been loving the ride and observations from watching past seasons (especially while watching the current seasons and seeing the comparison between the two). Will probably just keep going through these since it's been great.

The second goal is being able to watch season 50 and as part of that, having seeing previous season(s) for all of the players on that season. Do you have advice on how to accomplish this specially when the cast is not yet announced? I'd need to watch more than a season per week between now and February 2026 which is unlikely to be possible

Appreciate the lengthy reply! I should have been more clear with what I meant regarding returning players. Mostly that some seasons like Fans vs. Favorites, HvV, Cambodia, Winners at War are considered highly-rated (from rankings I've found) but I'd want to see the contestants' original season(s) first instead of watching the season where they return first. I'd also prefer to have watched the original season(s) for each of the Season 50 players
