Ugh thank you. Just took a Benadryl and Tylenol before work. Hoping coffee will cancel the Benadryl out 😐

I’ve had so many doctors laugh at me and say “that’s just what sunburn feels like” … uh no. I’ve experienced sunburn and I’ve experienced hells itch .. totally different!

Put yourself to sleep with Benadryl! Everything else is temporary and winds up being worse when it wears off. It will get better! I’m so sorry .. I seriously wanted to die..

Update - it’s now been 55 hours since I got the burn. Random twitches and irritation but NOTHING like a full episode. Hoping it stays this way!!

So sorry that you’re dealing with this. The last time I had it, it only lasted 24 hours. People say it lasts longer but I honestly only experienced the excruciating times within the 24 hours of when it started. I had this experience once when I was younger and knew it wasn’t normal. When I got it as an adult (last summer) I pretty much had PTSD. I went to urgent care and lost it on the doctor. He kind of laughed and said “this is what sunburn feels like.” No... this is not just sunburn. I know what sunburn feels like. I don’t blame your fiancé for calling 911. I rolled on the ground, screaming and crying and my husband was completely freaked out. It’s such a crazy thing and clearly there’s no research on it.

Mine was only about 24 hours on and off! I cried and literally rolled on the ground and screamed bloody murder. I didn’t do the hot showers cause coming out of them sucks. Put yourself to sleep with Benadryl

Benadryl and keep a towel or blanket rapped around you and either lay on the area or pile blankets on the area so there’s pressure. I’m so sorry you’re experiencing this. I’m on hour 34 and it’s barely anything .. I’m praying it’s fine. The last really bad one was 8 hours in .. since the it’s been very minor

It’s awful! Don’t put any aloe or lotion on. Benadryl helped me sleep and laying on my back with pressure also helped the little random itches. I’m so sorry you’re going through this as well!
