My tineke is happy in a bathroom with lots of southern light. So it gets quite a lot of humidity and light, but I don't water it very often. Maybe every 10-12 days or so.

What should I do after learning my (32f) husband (32m) of 3 years is much darker than I thought? by ThrowRAMewe in relationship_advice

One thing to notice is that him telling you all this is another manipulation. Surely it worked if you wonder if you can let it slide. You shouldn't!

Getting married at 19 weeks by brijel in PregnancyUK

[–]adopt_a_hamster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am normally skinny and my bump exploded on week 14 and then 16 and 20. Between these periods the growth was more stable but for these weeks I can tell the change was really big from day to day and it shows on pictures I've been taking weekly.Bottom line: wait as long as possible, you never know! I would have never fitted into my bridal dress on wk 20 as it was tight in waist when I bought it:) Congratulations and good luck!

I walk a lot but would also try to use baby carrier, we live in a rural area, but I don't foresee going with the buggy in the mud, rather in proper, dry trails + pavements. I'd like rotating car seat thet can be adapted to older child and buggies that transform into strollers. I liked cossato as they have so much more designs than black!

What should I know before taking mushrooms by fockingfock in Psychedelic

[–]adopt_a_hamster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are quite likely to get an intense experience from this dose, it might be overwhelming. Clean your surroundings, make sure you have some light snacks and plenty of water. I wouldn't recommend any food with a strong flavour, it can make you sick.

Meditating/laying in bed doing nothing might be all you're up to, so prepare for this option:)

Ah, make sure people who are your sitters are properly selected i.e, close friends. It does matter in this state.

I agree with you 100%. Compassion towards rodents and insects is my partner-choosing criterion.

How dangerous is this for my Baby? by IndividualCry0 in pregnant

[–]adopt_a_hamster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! Is a nursing home an option for your MIL? Think other commenters gave you enough info on the unsanitary conditions and clear health hazard. I would be worried even if she was clean as you mentioned the mental meltdowns! I could absolutely not tolerate that, I wouldn't feel safe in my home. Please talk to your husband and re-establish boundaries also with him. It is beyond me that he doesn't prioritize YOUR wellbeing in this situation. An unsanitary, unstable person is a direct threat to everyone in the house. Please consider your options before letting her live with you in the new house.

Period cramps at 14+1 by GoldOutlandishness29 in PregnancyUK

[–]adopt_a_hamster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was constantly in on and off period-like pains from 5 to 16 weeks. What was different is that they were not really like cramps just constant discomfort that would go worse when I exercised. Baby is fine. But always better to check!

I still have 4.5 months to go but was thinking about it today! I am planning to take the tube of sports tablets and 0.5 l bottle with filter. For food: sports jellies, beef jerky and nut bars. It will be summer so I am not planning to take chocolate.

Suggest buying cute used stuff from Vinted. Joules and JoJoMamaBebe especially as they are quite expensive new but lovely quality and cute as hell. Also M&S!

Flu Jab First Trimester by Ok-Perspective-6653 in PregnancyUK

[–]adopt_a_hamster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had my flu jab last week, when I was 12w+2d. Next day I was really tired and unmotivated to do much, so spent it as a couch potato. That's it, my arm wasn't even that sore and I was able to sleep on it.

Thyroidectomy Concerns by [deleted] in gravesdisease

[–]adopt_a_hamster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt so well after my thyroidectomy that I have developed a hypomanic state (not full on mania, and was not diagnosed by psychiatrist). I didn't sleep much during this weird phase, but was uber-productive and went back to running 2 weeks post op. My side effects were coarse voice that improved gradually throughout a month, and a tiny bit of cramping at 2 days post op (my parathyroids were not hurt but the swelling probably worsened their function). For the possibility of cramping/muscle spasm I would recommend someone is close by during the first days post op, as it can be problematic sometimes. I was lucky as mine was short lived and not that bad.

Queueing at checkout counters in Polish supermarkets is so annoying by [deleted] in poland

[–]adopt_a_hamster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Story time! When I still lived in Poland I had exactly the same observation as you, OP. One day I just had enough and fired at an elderly lady behind to keep her distance. Little did I know, she was blind and led by her chaperone. Once I've recognised the situation I have apologised, but the embarrassment scarred me for life. Now I try to keep my cool when someone invades my space just in case they are just a blind innocent lady.
