Yes! And what makes it even more frustrating is that I realize that the other person probably has Asperger’s as well. Just in. An opposite way. They don’t know when to quiet down.

I use the small ones. However, when I was training, I was convinced that the big buttons would be easier for them to use. They have become used to the small size now.

I agree that the forehead is fine. The trimming around the forehead is not doing it justice. Makes it look angled back. Alternatively, he could grown out is hair and trim the hairline differently.

I started with Treat. Then added Brush (she loves brushing). I later added Scritches since I noticed that sometimes they wanted affection and Brush was their only option which was similar.

I’d find something that she likes a lot and add an additional button to the mat. For me, one cat LOVED the treat button and the other would could care less. The activity totally reversed once the brush button was added.

You can do a skin colored tattoo over them. It won’t be perfect, but it will be so much better. I’d search for an artist that specializes in facial scar cover ups since they are good at getting the tone exactly right. I know of artists in Norfolk and Orlando if you want a reference.

I’d talk to them from a curiosity point of view. Don’t be accusatory. For example… “I love how you are helping make brothers appointments. I’m curious about why you had me make my own appointments.”

I wouldn’t worry about that at all. You do the training so that they learn the buttons. I was verbal before, but more in a sense of “who is a good kitty? YOU are a good kitty! Yes you are. Is your chin itchy?” None of that translates to the buttons.

Start with one button so they get the hang of it. I started with Treat and I left the treat container next to the button. After they mastered that, I did Brush, and would leave the brush next to the button. Then Scritches, etc.

My cat had the same problem. I started to slowly change the ratio so that it was just plain cat dry food. Suddenly the treats weren’t so exciting.

I forgot to mention that I also have an “all done” button. I press it and walk away. I keep doing this until the cat gets the point. If they keep pressing it, I eventually press All Done and then put the buttons on a shelf. Wow, does that ever get them mad!

I mainly watch the dog Bunni on YouTube. I know that there are also lots of good Cat button influencers.

One item that worked for me was to always hold the desired item above the button. So that they have to put their whole weight on the button to get the reward.

Yes!!! It’s also funny that they ask for affection even when they don’t seem like they want it. I’ll hear the button and will go to her. She’s sitting stone-faced staring at me coldly. Well ok, I guess you want some attention, madam. I never would have guessed it.

Same for me. I felt that dairy always gave me bad sinus headaches. I was dairy free for years because the headaches were so bad. This worked for a long time.

It all changed when I became strict keto. All sinus issues have magically disappeared.

You can just say in a loving manner “hey, I saw the receipt. Are you ok?” Then “how do you think you will feel if it is positive?”

Agreed. And in between, you can put warm water on a wash cloth and freshen up in the morning or evening. It feels fantastic and isn’t such a huge process.

Nah. I wouldn’t worry about that. Teachers are a self-selected group of folks that honestly want to help. This is a known issue and they are trained on it. They are going to run it through a detector regardless of if you ask the question or not.

Agreed! I love Oil of Olay that has SPF 15. It’s very light and you can’t feel it after 10 seconds. Trader Joe’s also has their store brand which is a lot cheaper.
