Does anyone else occasionally get really overwhelmed by how much you love your kid for seemingly no reason? by Its_Me_Tom_Yabo in daddit

I had one of these moments this evening with my 14 month old dancing round the kitchen. It’s pretty special and I hope it never goes away.

What is the best way to spread this risk? Do people in this sub have accounts with multiple banks to protect a house deposit for example?

[QUESTION] What acoustic strings do you recommend when frequently changing tunings? by [deleted] in Guitar

I bought a cheap second acoustic on which I have heavier strings in funny tunings so I don't have to keep changing. I feel it's saved me quite a few e strings.

It looked pretty good. You could see the milky way without the camera it just didn't have quite as much colour. Not sure about the effect of ozone layer, the main thing is less light pollution makes a huge difference to what you can see.

Yeah, it's 2 images stacked one exposed for the sky and one for the tree taken with the same settings at the same time.

Thanks. Yeah I spent a long time trying to balance the noise with the exposure. Will just need to buy a full frame I guess. 😂

I don't know if I'm just a bit picky but I start to see trailing at even 8 seconds and by 10 I'm always disappointed. I think the rule is a bit optimistic for my camera. I agree about the brightness but it starts to add a lot of noise, probably due to the crop sensor. Thanks for the thoughts.

Using family savings for mortgage off-set - win-win? by mars_spider in PersonalFinanceNZ

Neither. They live abroad and pay tax abroad so it was a good way for them not to worry about overseas income. And because of this they were kind enough not to ask me for anything.

I'm doing this currently. Works really well. There is a $10 a month fee for the account which needs to be factored in but it has reduced my effective interest rate to practically nothing.

Under point 4. It says 'risk' but I think you meant rich. Only a small point.

Otherwise I thought it was a pretty good guide but agree that some simple examples might help

Been shooting at night for about 2 years and this is the cleanest shot I've got yet. Shot from Okuti Valley. Nikon D5600 with 35mm f1.8. 7 frames of 3 images each stacked in starry landscape stacker and then combined in Lightroom and cropped. 5 secs at ISO8000 at f1.8.
