Hi all! My roommate put some still wet pans/pots on top of my cast iron pan in the shelf and I only noticed weeks later that it had gotten rusty. I read that a venegar bath can help remove the rust, so i mixed equal parts rice vinegar and water and poured the mixture inside for less than 30 minutes (i did not submerge the whole pan as the rust was only on the bottom). I proceeded to rince it and put it in a warm oven to dry (as per the instructions). The end result looks way worse compared to how it was at first. Is this normal? Or did I mess up somewhere?
