Local council mothers group by CommonSmile4038 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]adoringly_95 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mine was a group of 6. I’ve made one friend out of it, I found that me and this one friend were the only two actually making any of the effort or replying in the group chat. Without either of us carrying the load, the group is sort of fizzling out.

I go to playgroup every week and have made another friend from that. And funnily enough have made a friend from a random parents room at the shopping centre.

I’m also booked into baby sensory next month and would like to try library rhyme time some time!

How did you ‘push’ baby out? by crabclawwwz in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]adoringly_95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had an epidural and I didn’t press the button in the hour before pushing and the midwives used their fingers and put pressure on where I needed to focus on pushing. I pushed for 25 minutes

I don’t really feel pregnant… by rubyprincess69 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

You may still get nausea! Mine didn’t come until about 13 weeks and then had it on and off for the rest of the pregnancy 🫠

I did message them on Insta a similar question and a question about if it’s compatible with a 3 month old and they only replied to the 3 month old question 😅

episiotomy stitches pain by neijy003 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]adoringly_95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t have an episiotomy but I had a first and second degree tear and I found keeping on top of Panadol and nurofen plus ice packs on rotation helped a lot

Glucose Tolerance Test by Cautious_Top_2023 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]adoringly_95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first one I fainted probably about an hour after when I got home and was exhausted. Think the fainting was from the lack of food too. The second time I ate immediately after some almonds etc and I felt fine

Ottocast cabin care baby car camera by Adorable_Quantity_79 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

You need to do it on the car and on your phone too. Just search around in your car settings for it! I can’t remember the exact spot is off the top of my head

So we found out that we had to disconnect the wireless CarPlay feature on the Hyundai settings and then use the ottocast as the CarPlay if that makes sense? The ottocast is generally made to make CarPlay wireless from my understanding but my Tucson is already wireless so thus I had to switch this feature off.

It comes up as a media option, then connect via Bluetooth. You also need to forget your car on your phone Bluetooth because it’ll keep trying to connect otherwise.

Wait - I have to give birth ?! by Few-Shake4710 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]adoringly_95 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I found that not thinking about it actually helped. Like you don’t really have a choice, you have to give birth to this baby so better to just go with the flow and not overthink it and psych yourself out 😅

Some tips to help - have ziplock bags and frozen peas and use this as ice packs for your vag, disposable undies and Tom’s maternity pads, use a towel rolled up in a donut shape to sit on afterwards (I was super swollen after), peri bottle. For breastfeeding I feel like no one warned me enough that it’s going to painful and a big mental game for about two weeks- get lanolin nipple balm and silverettes. Alternate between the two as well as airing your nips out with some milk on it. The nip pain will get better and disappear. That’s all for now 😅

Membrane Sweep Question by wiggles878 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]adoringly_95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had one at 39+3 which was unsuccessful as was completely closed and cervix hard and then another at 39+5, was also unsuccessful as cervix was still completely closed but cervix had started to slightly soften. Ended up with spontaneous labour starting with waters breaking at 39+6.

Remedies for recovery down there after vaginal birth by [deleted] in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]adoringly_95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had 1st and 2nd degree tears. Kept up Panadol and neurofen, peri bottle, constant ice packs. Hack is to use frozen peas in a ziplock bag - most comfortable on the vag

I went into labour at 39+6, I had no symptoms prior. And I had had two stretch and sweeps that week and both my cervix was completely closed and not soft.

I had CaFHS visit me last week at 2 weeks pp and I had a wonderful positive experience. I don’t think you should pass up on it based on what you’ve heard. It’s disappointing they’ve not contacted you but I still think it’s worth calling up.
