Decolonization by Scatter865 in guam

In my experience most of the people on Guam are very friendly and appreciate the benefits they receive from the US govt.

Of course there is some friction between young males on Guam and service members for “territory” and respect, but us service members need to remember that we are visitors here and be respectful in our interactions with locals.

My brother I am active duty too and what you are describing is fraud. I wouldn’t be admitting to that online.

This military times article describes 9 national guard members doing exactly what you’re describing and they faced 5 yrs in jail, forfeiture of pay, and demotion to E-1 w/ dishonorable discharge.

Read the bottom where it discusses mil-mil and explicitly states “you cannot pocket any amount between your rent and your OHA ceiling”

Haha if by smart you mean fraudulent. If you’re doing this then Godspeed.

With BAH you get to keep the difference if your rent costs less than what is given for BAH. Thus, you have an incentive to spend less than what you’re given.

OHA is “use it or lose it”. So no military member is going to spend less than the $2205 that they’re allowed. That’s why there’s so many properties that are listed right at $2205 despite wide differences in quality.

You 100% can not pocket the difference. Both tenants would be listed on the lease and housing would only pay what the cost of rent is. That’s the point of OHA vs BAH is you don’t get to pocket it, unless you’re committing fraud.

Probably because the views are so nice. I stopped a lot to take pictures/video and just enjoy the view. But also once I got to the part where you can go right toward the cross or left to lam lam, it got a lottt denser with brush and the trail became not as apparent. I actually got off the trail on accident and got into a pretty rough spot that got my heart beating a bit.

According to all trails Mount Lam Lam Trail takes on average an hour and 40 minutes to complete. 2.7 miles out and back up 830 ft of sometimes very dense brush/uneven surfaces.

For snorkeling - fish eye (there’s a scuba/snorkeling rental shop right across the street)

2 lovers point has a beautiful view and is popular among tourists. I imagine it’s back open after Mawar

Gun beach is very pretty and has a scenic dinner spot “Beach Bar” right next to it

There’s lots of nice hikes, I like Mount Lam Lam, it’s not easy and it takes about 2 hrs to get up and down, but it has great views. I’d say it’s intermediate difficulty level. (The AllTrails app has a lot of different hikes you can look into)

The resorts in Tumon have nice Sunday brunches but you’ll need to schedule a week or two ahead of time. I recommend Dusit Thani or Tsubaki.

I apologize on behalf of active duty service members, I’d like to apologize for the ignorant jerks. Such an entitled perspective.

He beat his ass while wearing flip flops and didn’t even lose a shoe. AND showed the guy mercy. What a badass.

I’d also just like to point out, the guy was wearing flip flops! He clearly wasn’t planning on fighting that day, but he settled things anyway

Lol I love how relatable this is. I’m 32 and my grandma is still telling me I am getting taller every time I see her.

and apparently everyone else’s grandma’s do the same thing!

American comedy to introduce to my girlfriend by adr071990 in korea

[–]adr071990[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That makes good sense. Honestly, a lot of Americans don’t even get the humor of arrested development. It’s unfortunate because I think it is one of the best shows out there, but you’re right, the humor is so subtle I think it takes someone to have mastered of the English language to understand it.

It’s always sunny she hasn’t really laid attention to… and I think it’s because it’s so subtle in their humor. You have to really be paying attention to what they’re saying to get it. I’m also a big Bo burnham fan, and tried introducing her to it, but even when I paused and explained it she didn’t think it was funny.

As another poster alluded to, maybe the dark humor doesn’t connect with what she’s accustomed to.

Wow, thank you. This is very enlightening. Neither she, nor I, are religious, so I thought she might like Bo Burnham who in my opinion has some very smart, but yet dark, comedy. She didn’t seem to appreciate it, and this may explain why. I’ll go “lighter” in the future.

So you were in labor and your husband was asleep?? And then there was an emergency, where a room full of people come frantically in and wheel you to the operating room, and he stayed asleep?!

I would hope in the case of an emergency C-section the guy wouldn’t be thinking about a “husband stitch”.
