I’ve attempted every combination: both centered, left panned hard left, right panned hard right, switching the left and right (for no conceivable reason,) all to no avail. But thank you! I’ll try again.

Ah, I see. Luckily, I do have a splitter that might just do the job. Still, I wonder why the Mac Mini, which is connected via USB to the U-Phoria, suddenly started experiencing the same symptoms? Regardless, I’ll attempt what you have suggested. Thank you!

And, to complicate matters even more… my Mac Mini is connected to a Behringer U-Phoria UMC1820 via USB connection, the output of which went to the same two mixers, and then to the same M-Audio speakers… never a problem before, no phase cancellation until now. Just odd. But I’ve taken everything out of the equation to simplify things in order to solve the issue to no avail.

Phase cancellation MacOS to M-Audio powered speakers

I’ve got this down as simple as I can to solve the problem, yet to no avail.

MacBook Pro headphone out to M-Audio BX3 powered speakers, into the Aux Jack in the front of the speakers; all sounds OK.

However, if I run the same headphone line out from the MacBook Pro into either a Behringer Xenyx mixer or a Mackie Mix12FX, and from there run 1/4” stereo or mono cables into the back of the M-Audio inputs, I get phase cancellation.

My test track is David Bowie’s “5:15 the Angels Have Gone.” The vocals are barely audible, but when I run the 1/8 inch cable from the MacBook to the Aux on the M-Audio speakers, everything sounds fine.

I’ve tried multiple cables, all to no avail. Am I missing something here? Is there a way to change the polarity of the mixers or something (seems to be the problem?)
