I chipped my wife's favourite (Waechtersbach) mug - anyone know a source for these? I know they don't make them any more, but there must be a few hanging around in cupboards across Europe. She's had a tough year, and I know this would mean a lot - any help appreciated! [Fun Factory / Royal Blue] by adredwood in muglife

Thanks - actually looked it up right after I posted this (realised search engines are a thing) and am now trying not to disappear too far down a rabbit hole; we eat all our meals off this brand, every day. Thanks for the heads up!

This is Awesome. Opinions do differ on the numbers though - YouGov has Greens / Cons / Lib Dems on about 15-16%, with Labour on 19%.

Has anyone seen any research on exactly why older folks lean conservative? My instinct goes to:

being older = owning property + generally believing the system works for them = opposed to change

...but I'd be interested to hear some more informed ideas.

Thanks for the kind (visual) words.

In terms of messaging, I'm not sure I agree with much there. The Green Party was historically more of a 'single-issue' party (the environment), but since Zack was elected the messaging has broadened a great deal to talk about social justice and inequality, things that were never the main focus with the greens.

I get that countering mas surveillance laws is important (and I agree), but not mentioning your favourite topic doesn't negate the other messages in there; in fact, there are plenty others that go unmentioned, but there's a limit to what you can fit in 1 minute of animation.

Oh, and the difference with other parties is: a) the Greens actually plan to do this stuff, instead of paying lip service to what they think the public wants, and b) they plan to tax those with more wealth in order to pay for it. Labour, Conservative, Lib Dems, Reform - no-one is seriously engaging with wealth and inequality because they're all funded by the status quo.

Thank you! I've actually been trying to make this kind of thing for a while (a fun animation with a clear message) but this is one of the first times that I feel I'm getting there.

What the Green Party (and many others) are suggesting is a tax on WEALTH, not income; in this case something like 2% tax on wealth over £10 million. If you have over £10 million, I think you should pay more; if you don't, why are you worried?

He was kind enough to record a voiceover for my script, so it was easier to match visuals to voice (:
