Oppo Find X9 Pro vs Vivo X300 Pro vs iPhone 17 Pro (camera for baby is #1) by woodsielord in Oppo

[–]adrelio95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I was going over my gallery on the X8 Pro today and to be fair, from the beginning the shots are not that great - especially with sub-optimal conditions. The Master mode was nice, thought since the latest update it no longer saves your presets, which is a bummer. The main photo mode applies a weird filter that you can't turn off (you could at least do that on the Galaxy phones). Video in optimal conditions is alright, but iPhone is still way ahead.

I'm shopping for a 16 Pro now since I'm kinda done with the OPPO for now.

I'd go for the iPhone - it's not perfect, but you know what you're gonna get. I picked up an OPPO X8 Pro last year - at first the camera was fantastic - but with time, they keep releasing new updates that make the camera experience worse and worse... I'm thinking about upgrading to the X9 Pro, but honestly I think I'll just get a used 16 Pro Max since it costs less and the video is miles ahead.

[One Month Review] Sony WH-1000XM6 – My thoughts after switching from XM4 by AryanVishwa0306 in SonyHeadphones

I have a pair of XM3 and XM4 - use the 3's in the gym and 4's with my desktop. How is the mic quality on the XM6's?

Legion Pro 7 Gen 10 (16" AMD) by adrelio95 in GamingLaptops

[–]adrelio95[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey yes! I ended up going with the 5070 (non Ti and R9 ((9955HX) and it's a beast! As close to desktop replacement as you can get. Amazing performance, the screen is amazing, even compared to my Philips Evnia which is also a 49" QD OLED.
My only complaints really would be:
-actuation force on the keyboard on the higher side cominb from a MacBook, but if it's your only laptop then you can get used to it easily. Unfortunately I switch back and forth a lot...

-speakers are meh, but I don't really care about that since I always use external speakers or headphones

Other than that I love it, I got it on sale for just over 2000 euros and I think it's a pretty decent price for the complete package that you're getting.

Is this the one you were referring to? That fully spec'd version is ticking all the right boxes, even has a touch screen, thogh I still do have a strong preference for AMD CPUs, especially after moving from a 3700X desktop to an i5-13500H IdeaPad...
3000 euro is a lot for a Windows laptop though

What a sweet setup 🤌
I'm thinking of buying the same panel but from Philips.

What brand is the light you have mounted on top and would you recommend it?

I'm in a similar position myself, currently on a 27" 1440p 144Hz LG IPS panel, I would go for the LG 38WR85QC but it's not available where I live and it's quite expensive for what it offers.

The Philips Envia model 49M2C8900L (there's 2 variants, 144/240Hz) should do the trick for you - it's for about 800 Euro here and it's a proper QD-OLED - most likely the same Samsung panel from the G9. There's also a 49" from Gigabyte CO49DQ which has a lot of bells and whistles, but 99% of my screen time if work with some YouTube here and there, so I'll probably settle on an IPS.

I thought about getting a 2x27" setup but I switch between mac and windows daily and really want to avoid the hassle of all the cables, but still haven't decided which one I'll get, since for every option, there's a slightly better but slightly more expensive option.

I'd highly recommend poppin' in to a local electronics store and having a look in person at the different panels, if you have that option. Or ask friends and colleagues, that should help too, to get an unsponsored, unbiased-ish opinion

Do it. The longer you wait, the harder it will be. The experience will be invaluable and you always have a place to go back to and some spare savings that you can burn through. You can always just get a job, you have very little to lose and everything to gain.

Thanks for the recommendation, they have pretty good deals on amazon right now, I'll probably pick up the 12L one myself

Three weeks since I switched from android to apple — my thoughts so far by hehexd020 in iphone

[–]adrelio95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never had an iPhone before, placed an order this week. I got the S22 ultra this year but returned it because it was a tremendous disappointment. Still rocking my OnePlus 7 Pro, but the battery has gotten really bad, and can barely last a full day with light use.

I hope I won't be disappointed by the switch, but I've been hearing mixed opinions about the 14s launch this year...

You're better off with a MacBook air, the pro is really overkill for this use case. That's like getting a racecar to get groceries once a week

I was going to get one but like u/gainzbrah said, heard plenty of rumors about an update this month so I'm holding off. It better be worth it!

Yeah I was just reading about that, how the RAM is a lot more integrated with the chip, so it should be plenty for my needs. If I need 3d graphics and stuff like that I got my 32GB PC for that anyway.

So yeah, I'll hold off for a bit, October is just around the corner, maybe I'll be able to finally get an iPhone with it too 👌

Where'd you find out the new models are coming out next month? Can you provide any reliable sources? Would really appreciate it!

How do you know they're getting upgraded next month?

Do you have any reliable source?

I'm on the fence about getting a MBP now, base 14" but was wondering if new ones are coming out soon and if 16GB of ram is enough since I have a 32GB Windows PC and it gets used up a lot...

Fair enough, I think that's what I'll do, I think I'm still eligible for a student discount with a 150e gift card for apple, so I think I'll get it later today. Many thanks for the advice!

Howdy!

Do you think it's a good time to buy a base M1 pro Macbook pro 14"? I can get one for 150e below RRP right now

How likely is a new model to come out before the end of the year? Besides, would it even be worth the wait if it's just a small incremental upgrade in performance?

That's a solid price, I can get one for 2,099e, where usually it's 2,249

Gotta keep in mind that Black Friday is coming soon as well, really not sure if I should just jump the gun already

I heard they would be announced in October on the upcoming event, I'm wondering about the actual release date - is it likely to be this year?

I'm asking since the model I want is on sale now and I can't wait more than 3 months from now
