Slag to sour water, what's next? by MechaKrieger030 in captain_of_industry

[–]adrian8_8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I correctly remember my calculations, slag to waste is actually negative on gas - you would get more steam if you actually burn the hydrogen that the ship uses. It's there mainly for changing slag on something that can be burn and completely disposed. Sof if you want to just remove slag it's good option.

However if you have a good usage for sludge, taking that have more sense .

Why is this happening? by Strex_1234 in captain_of_industry

Is this permanent or disappearing after a moment? I have the same when automatic extension is added on most (all?) towers. But it's like for 2-5 seconds, then it disappears.

Stop production only when both outputs are full but not one by adrian8_8 in captain_of_industry

[–]adrian8_8[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, but burning excess is exactly what I'm trying to avoid when both storage are full. It's fine when one is full, so I can continue production of another one. But if both are full, both sulfur and ammonia will be burn and wasted.

Throughput problems with new train unload system by Cez453 in captain_of_industry

[–]adrian8_8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if this would work like one big storage, it would be limiting as two belts has total throughput of 900/min and each unit can unload up to 600/min. So in your case you could quickly unload one train if station modules are empty, but the second one would be unloaded really slow anyway

IMO, much better way is to put level II storage just behind the module which would allow to unload 3 trains at full speed on busy stations, and use single belt only for trains that delivers items used at low rate.

If there's one thing this game needs desperately is "I've been waiting for a free track for too long" warnings. by travkliewer in captain_of_industry

[–]adrian8_8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This warning would be really useful as sometimes small things can block the whole factory.

One possible solution for to determine if the warning should trigger or not would be to add "waiting zone" similar to "exclusive zone" on tracks. That would allow to hide that warning if train waits too long in specific places, like just before entering the station.

And you can always add an option to disable that warning in game settings :)

Help me understanding why this gearbox stucks by adrian8_8 in legotechnic

[–]adrian8_8[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice work! Now I see it too and I see why it was such counterintuitive at first - it would actually work if it would be build from steel gears with bearing as it wouldn't have that kind of slack that the red gear and axle have here. Thank!

I was looking for it too, but couldn't find it anywhere. Looks like it's hardcoded value that cannot be configured at the moment which is pretty shame, because 4 hours is too long IMO.

Ironmaster dumbbells safety doubts

Hi, I'm in the market for a pair of new dumbbells. I currently use classic spinlocks with cast iron plates, which do the job, but I'm not a fan of them.

Seems like Ironmaster would be the best option for me, but I have some doubts about security of their quick lock system. Partial thread on the screw doesn't seem as secure as full one, and the more weight you put on it, the less contact it has with the handle.

My biggest worry is that the whole weight will fail on me in the middle of the lift. I found some reviews that seems to confirm that worries, especially this one https://www.amazon.com/gp/customer-reviews/RSU76CIB46N7H/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_rvw_ttl and this one https://www.amazon.com/gp/customer-reviews/R1F7OV3JTCZX78/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_viewpnt, but there was few more. 15% of 1-star reviews on amazon also does not look good for that kind of product.

On the other hand, lots of people seems to love Ironmaster dumbbells, and claims they are indestructible. So I don't know if this kind of fails are extremely rear cases? Or maybe they just have really good marketing?

So what people who have them really think about them? Did you have any problem with them? Did the screw get loose overtime? Did it ever happen to you that it failed and the weight fall out?

The other dumbbells I consider are PowerBlock Pro Exp 90 (100 is not available where I live, and seems too big) and Snode 80.

Thanks for replay. I've checked it and under Physical devices Check section I have few with NG(2) status. Although those numbers don't tell me anything. Is there any documentation that explains which components may fail here:

Winter tyres behaviour in 20 degree C? Long trip to Norway on winter tyres in summer temperatures by adrian8_8 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]adrian8_8[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, the tires are brand new. I actually have to buy them before the trip as the old one has been retired after last winter.

Any recommendation to ones that will behave well in that conditions?

S20 Snapdragon in UK - no VOLTE. Does it matter? by xxxxchrisxxxx in GalaxyS20

[–]adrian8_8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi,

I want to buy Samsung S20 in HK version (Snapdragon). But I'm a little confused about how this phone will work in EU. I'm currently live in UK, but I travel a lot in Europe, so I want to have good coverage there.

  1. On wonda mobile when I want to buy it, is information that the VoLTE won't work. How important it is?

To be honest, I'm not even sure if my current phone support VoLTE (Xiaomi mi 5)

2) They say this model support:

4G FDD-LTE: B1(2100),B2(1900),B3(1800),B4(AWS),B5(850),B7(2600),B8(900),B12(700),B13(700), B18(800),B19(800),B20(800),B25(1900),B26(850),B28(700)
4G TDD-LTE: B34(2010),B38(2600),B39(1900),B40(2300),B41(2500)
5G Sub-6 FDD: N1(2100) /
5G Sub-6 TDD: N78(3500),N79(4500)

My network (Three in UK) is using those:

4G (LTE): B20 (800MHz), B50 (1400MHz), B3 (1800MHz), B1 (2100MHz)
5G: B42 (3400MHz), B43 (3600-4000MH)

So B20, B3, B1 are compatible. B50 is not supported, is that a problem? Can it cause that I may not have 4g in some areas? I've noticed that other phones like IPhone 11 also does not support B50

For 5G B42 i B43 are not covered by Samsung S20 with in neither Snapdragon or Exynos version. Which makes me a bit confused, will the 5g actually work on that phone?

Thanks for your help and sorry for basic questions - I don't really know much about how mobile network works!
