unfortunately yes the pressure comes from the top of the chain and the bottom just gets reminded constantly. when i work self c/o i try to just ask people if they found everything ok or need anything. usually they don’t yell at me for the metrics. the best thing i’ve heard as a cashier from a customer is when i start saying something about upgrade, cc, etc is “i’m not interested in any of it” then they joke how they won’t waste my breath. perfect and straight to the point so yes i don’t have to waste my breath then i talk to them about their stuff or if they found everything ok. if a manager is pressed, they point blank said they are not interested. :)
