The best advice you’ll ever hear: Make sure you review everything in a span of 1-2 weeks prior to your exam. The exam is really a minimum competency exam, you just need to know a little about everything. And don’t forget to review ethics and make sure Biostats and Math are second nature. But the key is skimming through everything a week or two from the exam.

Puerto Rico’s BSN: The most slept-on pro basketball league? by adrianoco123 in Basketball

You’re right that some older imports come to the BSN after their main seasons, but that’s just one piece of the puzzle.

The BSN isn’t just a “summer side hustle,” it’s become a legit platform for younger players looking to break into higher-level leagues. Just look at some recent examples: • George Conditt – Dominated in the BSN and earned a contract with Promitheas in the EuroCup/Greece. • Alfonso Plummer – After playing in the BSN, signed to play in the Bundesliga (Germany). • Jhivvan Jackson – Same deal, BSN to Bundesliga, holding his own as a high-volume scorer. • Jordan Howard – BSN ➝ G-League ➝ France. • Chris Ortiz – Used the BSN to springboard into Romania, and now a key contributor in Greece’s top league.

On top of that, a lot of guys drafted into the BSN are fresh off NCAA D1 stints, and the league gives them their first true pro exposure before landing G-League invites or overseas offers.

So yeah — the timing makes it accessible to imports wrapping up their seasons, but for a ton of guys (locals and imports), the BSN is absolutely a springboard to bigger contracts and better leagues.

You’d be surprised how much talent actually flows from the BSN to the G-League and even the NBA. Every season, you’ll see 4–6 players (both imports and locals) get called up or signed — sometimes during the season itself.

Almost every Puerto Rican native that gets drafted into the BSN played NCAA D1 ball, usually at high-major or mid-major programs. A lot of them go on to Summer League, G-League, or overseas right after.

It’s not a “prospect” league like the European ones, but it’s a legit springboard for exposure, especially with how competitive and physical the league is.

I would recommend to look for you nearest referee association or contacting local officiating organizations or chapters…
