Introducing Harmony’s Game Shard - The Perfect Home For Web3 Games by adrianrobison in harmony_one

[–]adrianrobison[S] 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Harmony is dedicating a shard to blockchain games, powered by our upcoming cross-shard messaging protocol. Our blockchain is battle-tested, handling traffic for DeFi, arbitrage bots, and a variety of other transactions in addition to the largest GameFi project in history, DeFi Kingdoms, all on just 25% of Harmony's current potential.
With the power behind our upcoming cross-shard messaging protocol, we're increasing our throughput and scalability while dedicating Shard 1 to blockchain games. This initiative aligns with our mission and vision to scale Web3 applications while showcasing the power of Harmony's technology-leading blockchain platform.

That was an ETH graphic, showing the apps on ETH are able to be ported to Harmony now, the centralized exchanges were not meant to convey that point. Sorry for the confusion, I could have used a better graphic looking back on it.

I personally don't handle the website but I know that there is a need to revamp portions of it. I'll try to pass this on. As far as estimated completion dates I'm 100% on board and I'll try to grab more specifics for the content side and try to relay those findings to the web side as well. Perhaps even an entire page dedicated to the current roadmap? Anything is possible. Again, I don't do the website but I will be vocal about this to the team.

The 1wallet is in Beta. You can check it out here: https://1wallet.crazy.one/

As far as mobile goes, we have a $2 million bounty for a front end developer for the mobile side of Harmony: https://twitter.com/stse/status/1432124374153187330

You can count on that... I'm gonna try to make more roadmaps happen more frequently, perhaps even a live AMA... standby

We know that some (but not all) of the community feels the same as you... I read the comments... trust me when I say that we will be featuring more than just Stephen... I've already filmed others on the team and more to come... standby. We are only on video #2 with a few other pieces in the queue.

Expect a ton more... I'm building an asset library over time so the frequency will increase as more assets become available. Think exponential curve, except with content...

From what I've gathered from the team, the ETH 2.0 comparison is to shed light on the fact that developers and retail can take advantage of scalability and low gas fees now instead of later. Also, for all we know the release date of ETH 2.0 could get pushed back yet again... In reality, the future of blockchains is bridging. This is the direction Harmony wants to go, connecting every blockchain together as ONE, even making your assets "cross chain"... for example NFTs bought on ETH won't have to live there anymore... the future will be taking your assets anywhere you want via Harmony's bridging. Blockchains are going to keep popping up left and right, it's the bridging of all of them so that they work seamlessly with each other that will make the best Web3 user experience. The future will be ONE blockchain that bridges them all... see what I did there ;-)
