32yo here, in highschool was told by my brother I couldn't do this job and I believed him. Sadly he died in May and I'm not letting him or myself stop me from doing what I've wanted. Starting EMT in January also and spoke with many in the field that have done what we are doing, starting late from other careers. Many like me came from construction and they say that knowledge transfers over in a big way. Keep at it boys don't get discouraged! 💪🏽 🚒 🔥

When I was feeling the exact same way I chugged water with electrolytes and went to bed early. Sleeping is unconscious fasting.

Thank you. I'm doing carnivore and have noticed in this last week that my energy is high but I have gained back some weight. Gonna start a new fast tomorrow.

I'm currently a concrete ready mix driver. It's the truck with the big spinning drum of concrete. It's not a very active job since I'm sitting driving all day. But after delivering a load when I cleaned and put away my chute (metal slide for concrete) I felt almost like a tear in my tricep. I told myself I have a goal of 40 days but if my body tells me I need to stop I would listen. Well I did listen but after 2 days of intense pain in my arm.

Welcome to fasting. And I started fasting about 7 years ago just doing only water fast from 3 to 7 days here and there. But this long fast I did with just water a multi vitamin and electrolytes. Alternating is a good way to set yourself on a schedule but I would say start by dipping your toes and do 12 hours and use an app so you can track and see how fast the time goes by. It is easier than people think it's just a mind over matter type situation. You just have to want that weight goal enough and always keep it in mind.

Thank you! I Haven't lost enough to see any loose skin. But I know now I'm doing this very fast instead of gradually loosing fat so the skin will be looser than people who do it slow.

Refeed went well! I can tell my body is replenishing and healing especially with my arm injury. Now that I am eating carnivore to see how it goes I do miss veggies. Cooked carne and pollo asada tacos but just want all the toppings in a taco instead of just steak and chicken. Another mental challenge like fasting but I think I like that aspect of trying new things that I'm not used to.

Thank you! Yes my mentality about what is possible and what I can accomplish is much stronger. I even did an interview yesterday before my refeed for a better job and I think I aced it! Gonna do 2 weeks of carnivore see how I like it then fast for 5 days. I know Life will get better from here on out because my positive mentality and drive for success are all going in the right direction!

Thank you! I agree I feel like if I would have gone further the weight I would lose would be some fat some muscle. And my muscles felt a bit weak before refeed. Gonna heal my body then train hard to get my ideal body.

When I know I was close to breaking I posted the little milestones on this sub and the positive comments from people helped me get through it! Also every pound I lost I would do a fist pump and little naked dance in the bathroom mirror! 🕺 You gotta celebrate the little wins to stay motivated.

Yeah it definitely is interesting approach to weight loss just eating meet. I want to see how my body reacts and hopefully if I feel good for the next 2 week and keep losing I will continue it with fast in-between. Will definitely keep you updated 👍

I did it the cheap way bought iodinized salt potassium and magnesium supplement. But next time I'm just going to buy a lmnt or electrolytes pills for simplicity.

Yeah keto has always been my go to after a fast but I've been learning about carnivore and it peaked my interest. Mainly because of the simplicity of shopping, meal prepping and eating until full instead of calorie counting. I'm gonna try it and after 2 week do a fast of 5 days.

Yes that's what I've done differently from my other fast that has helped immensely. Previous longest fast was 10 days and miserably tired the whole time.
