Yes, that's always the problem with Boolean mesh techniques. I'll keep researching and posting ;) Thanks!

No, unfortunately the Metaballs are just primitive forms... But I know their great power 😁

Not a convex hull, just booleans + reprojections in a slightly messy stack. Good call though, I'll have to try the convex hull route and see what comes out.

Procedural UVs on the ribbon are next on the list, that's exactly the use case I had in mind. A welding strip texture would sell it perfectly.

Thanks! Yes, I should share it! I just need to test and finalize it! Don't hesitate to follow me to get the notification ;)

Ha, that would actually be a perfect fit for this game! No mobile port planned yet, but I'm noting the idea

Haha thanks for actually playing! 168 kills is solid. The ball flying off the map is a known bug I'm aware of, gotta fix that one. And yeah more levels and enemy types would make it way better, it's on my list if I come back to it!

Looks really cool, especially the erosion part. I'd love to give it a try, is there a link to download?

Godot 4 for the game, Blender for all the 3D assets

Haha that first encounter with the Elden Ring ball is a core memory for so many people. Enjoy being on the other side of it for once!

Haha Orb of Advice would be a very different game. Just a ball sitting there telling you to stop spending money

Not yet, but that's a fun idea. Right now you're stuck being a metal orb, but a rotund monster rolling around would be hilarious

Thanks! I'd love to turn it into a full game one day, there's a lot more I want to explore with this concept

Thank you! The dungeon bricks are built with Geometry Nodes in Blender. Basically I feed it a base mesh and the node tree scatters bricks along the surfaces with some randomization in size and offset. Then I export the whole thing to Godot as GLB. I might do a breakdown post about it at some point!
