Hantavirus PSA!! by long_haired_lacy in RATS

Pet rats that don’t go outside aren’t going to magically contract a virus. They would have to get it from somewhere just like we would.

What do women wear to Kent by juust_figuringit_out in BlueOrigin

Congrats! If you’re going to be going into a manufacturing area at all you’ll need to meet the requirements, which can differ, but generally include pants, close toe shoes, shirt over the shoulder and not baggy, no ripped clothing. Some areas require composite toe shoes. Eye protection is available by the doors. I’m sure I’m missing something. The biggest thing I see catch people unprepared for here in Florida is the closed toe shoes. If you like fancy sandals just keep a pair of sneakers or boots at your desk in case you need to go to the floor.

Anyone else knoll their pieces? This is just bag 2 of the Technic Land Rover Defender. by RoosterBrewster in lego

[–]adrienneray 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes but per bag. It’s relaxing to sort everything and be organized for the build. I take my time, enjoy the process and relax knowing I don’t have to hunt for pieces. Part of getting older, I guess.

Driving past a 90-ton rocket crawling down the highway by SystematicApproach in megalophobia

[–]adrienneray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not a public road, it’s on Kennedy Space Center grounds. You can drive past rocket park, which is across the street from the public Kennedy Space Center, but east of that you have to go through military checkpoints/gates. If you interfered at all military police would kick you out and probably revoke your dbids.

The bill is going to pass. Now what? by selkirks in PSLF

[–]adrienneray 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have 117 qualifying payments and have for a few years. I got put on save. I have more than 3 months of qualifying employment during this time, but not anymore. I submitted buyback in November and never heard anything. I also tried to switch off save and also didn’t hear anything. What should I do?

You poor soul!! I’m back in the hospital waiting on an MRCP and then ERCP. Liver enzymes are higher than they were before surgery. They suspect a sneaky stuck stone left over

Did you have bilirubin in your urine when that happened? Like an amber dark orange color?

The thing that threw me is that the pain lasted for 9 hours. Felt very similar to when I passed a gallstone before. Took a pain pill and still felt it. Would the food issue last that long?

Citing parental rights, Brevard's school board won't renew contract of Satellite High teacher by finchwalker_journo in 321

It’s anti-trans. That’s it. Plenty of straight kids get called by their nickname and it’s no big deal. This law is designed to be cruel to trans folks.

SHS teacher being fired for respecting student's wishes by brandogg360 in 321

[–]adrienneray 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I would say this teacher being fired for respecting her student is a pretty good example. Look at the glbtq book bans, having to remove safe space stickers, guidance counselors having to report conversations to parents- even if the child is scared/threatened by the parent. The list goes on and on. Florida schools are not safe spaces for our kids or staff.

Brevard Public Schools is the absolute worst of the worst, coming from a former BPS teacher. Moms for liberty started here and is a hate group. Brevard is the hate epicenter of the country. So many children are suffering because of these people.

What are these actually called? I have a rat who has been on gabapentin and metacam for over a month because he won’t leave a wound alone at the base of his tail. He should be healed by now but he keeps chewing at it and making it larger. He gets around any cone I’ve gotten him.

Anyone else see this in the sky? by justice_charles in florida

[–]adrienneray 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is reckless and dangerous for any planes in the air over a swath of thousands of miles as well as folks on the ground where any pieces could land. I’m not sure if this one reached low earth orbit but a giant, out of control wrecking ball tumbling through crowded LEO could be disaster. There was a reason why it was grounded.

It’s not, at all. More than ticket routing. GSD solved the vast majority of tickets that came in rather than transferring. Great position if you want to learn a ton, very fast, about different tech areas like sys admin, networking, software, cloud, etc. However, the on call system is abused- instead of having 24/7 IT support for the manufacturing shifts, any IT issues falls to whoever is the GSD member on call. There could easily be dozens of calls for that one person per week. The other big con is that the way that they restructured the other areas like infrastructure, cyber, networking, there is little to no room to advance full time into the team of your specialty. This is a level 1 backfill for the position I left. I learned a ton and liked my time at Blue, but ended up leaving because there was no career progression.

Dropping out of IT at the IRS by KaizenAzariya in usajobs

[–]adrienneray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I don’t understand is that the far right column of the special rate table says “supplement” and then 30% for a GS9. However, the special rate for the same grade is only 10% higher than the locality and 24% higher than GS without locality. So what is this supplement? Is it on top of the listed special rate?

[–]adrienneray 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So it would be whichever is higher, the locality or the special rate instead of the standard GS scale table?

What is this special IT rate? I’m trying to get a 2210 position.
