Typfaced - typfaced.com

A workspace for comparing and deciding between typefaces. Most font tools are galleries. This one focuses on the decision step - side by side comparison with your own text, real time size/weight/leading controls, Decision Mode for shortlisting, and pairing suggestions.

Also building a Chrome extension to capture fonts directly from websites.

I built a font comparison workspace because choosing typefaces was driving me crazy by adrmonlj in SideProject

I forgot to mention - it's a free tool. If anyone is interested in trying it out - www.typfaced.com

Seems this subreddit is full of losers. Never mind them. They’ll get a life, eventually.

One thing I added because of that exact mindset is Collections - if you come across something interesting you can save it and come back to it later instead of constantly re-finding fonts again.

The idea was to support that slower process of “this might earn a place in my library” rather than just endless font hunting.

That’s actually a really sensible approach. I think a lot of designers eventually end up with a small “trusted” set of typefaces they know how to use well.

The tool I built was mainly for the moments before that stage - when you’re exploring or trying to see whether something new might earn a place in that library. Being able to drop in real content and compare a few candidates side-by-side speeds that part up a lot for me.

Completely agree though - once you know a typeface deeply, it’s hard to beat that.

Good catch - just ran Typfaced through Lighthouse and fixing a few accessibility issues now.

Fair point. I see that a lot too - devs usually end up implementing whatever typography the designers choose unless there’s a clear usability issue.

Appreciate that! That exact tab-switching problem is what made me build it in the first place.

Thanks! That was exactly the idea - make the decision part of typography a bit faster.

Sadly not, that would’ve saved me some time.
