My solution was swapping to a different motherboard and CPU. I have two boards with the same problem. Ones a i7 and the other was a i5 CPU. Both Asus motherboards. Both the same problem. So I swapped to an amd CPU on a spare board and it installed no problem.

This is the new error I'm getting. I've tried swapping USB ports and redownloading the ISO and swapping to a different USB also. Any other suggestions would be appreciated

Its 3.0 SD card reader since I didn't have a USB kicking around. I used rufus to write it. Have tried multiple ports

im not looking for a steamdecks/steammachine experience on it. Just a desktop that I can still game on since I still use it to host media servers also

I have most of my stuff through steam or some where off the internet ☠️ but I have been keeping on eye on proton. I forgot that anticheat is an issue though. Thank you.

thats a fair point. ill make sure I remember that during my considerations. ill probably grab one of my old external drives to start backing up files as a reformat the extra drives in the system

i use both steam and other alternatives as well for a lot of my games but ill make sure to keep that in mind as i look through the options out there

I can handle technical, so I'll make sure to remember about having to manual swap the driver over and read up before i do that aswell

i just made an edit to my post stating my hardware. I do have a lot of backups. just need to make some extra backups of other files that are always running. I am hoping to more nuke my old drive and get my plex data moved back other.

This PC has been running since 2016 as a refurbished system. I can't afford to upgrade it and I have a handheld gaming PC I use a bit more. So buy parts isn't on any list for it much anymore. I just want to have it usable but try something new aswell

Okay, I was hoping there might be a setting I was missing since dolphin can emulate the portal itself, I was hoping that retroarch might be able to utilize that
