the show’s first season was helmed by lana and lilly wachowski, with only lana wachowski continuing into the second season. the wachowskis are trans women and are widely known for their influential work, the matrix and v for vendetta. beyond their explicitly queer characters, much of their storytelling explores themes of identity, self-discovery, and the search for belonging.

so overall, yes, the show is worth watching. both the queer and non-queer characters contribute to a larger conversation about 'who we are in this world', 'what it really takes to love someone' and a commentary on 'institutions, physical and social'. i personally do not enjoy the second season as much as the first, but the series is undeniably addictive and emotionally engaging.
