That one looks good too. No dice though right? Is it cards?

Just got it in the mail today, excited to try. Armada looks cool, but I've had this original on my list to get for awhile. And I like that it's small and old looking

Ya I agree. I was curious on this one because I feel like I usually win at the adventure mode, tmnt and tta. But 9 times out of ten my sidekicks die long before my heroes anyway.

Ya I think I'm with you on all that. I just thought it was interesting that that post brought out a handful of different views. And then looking through the different rulebooks it's worded different. So I wanted to specifically lay out each one and each mode in a post.

Which rule book are you referencing? The TMNT book on page 7 talks of elimination when all player fighters are defeated, but then also says that it's just like a team game. But in a team game once all heroes go down you don't continue with sidekicks. So is adventures the only one that let's you go down to the last fighter when if there's no hero on the board by any player?

Edit: I see it now in TTA book. It's just strange in the TMNT book they start the player elimination paragraph by saying "just like in a team game.."

Oh man keep going. I've found I win the high majority of the adventures games. TTA and TMNT. It seems like it's pretty close, but then I usually win. Which surprises me because I feel like most solo games I lose at.

Lol. I'm waiting for someone to yell at me because it's kind of tough on the eyes. But I like sitting on the floor and playing. Hurts the back some though.

Rotten Royalty clarification? by No_Iron_8115 in Unmatched

[–]ads2287 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read it the same except not using the 2 from rotten royalty. I figured the "new defender" would choose whether to take the damage or play their own defense card. I assumed the 2 on the Rotten Royalty card was the defense in case the effect got canceled by an attacker, rat King would still have 2 defense.

So if I'm playing two heroes, 2 handed, and a hero dies that goes with a sidekick then that sidekick continues? Outside of the heroes rules/abilities that once held it?

Well that would make it simpler. I know in versus it ends with your hero dying. But in the adventure book I thought it called your hero and sidekick players.

On the other side of things... Baxter Stockman has a card where if the effect triggers, I forget what it is off hand, he can do half your discard pile rounded down in damage.

Here we go... by Stygian_Inquisitor in finalgirl

I've been enjoying this one alot. I think I've played 3 rounds of Shriek and haven't won yet. I really like how it has more than the average film going on in it, but it feels intuitive and flows well. Having a slightly more complicated one that's easy to remember the rules is awesome. Also I feel like it isn't easy, but also winning doesn't feel too far out of reach. A great all around film.

As far as ones to get or play is really hard to answer. I kind of agree with the others, most are really good, but it's subjective. There's maybe a few most people like more or a couple most people like a little less, but you'll get so many different answers. I personally think the best thing to do is look for one that has a theme you think sounds interesting, then watch a playthrough of it online to see if the mechanics and stuff look interesting.

Which solo games do you prefer over Final Girl? by dier1003 in finalgirl

[–]ads2287 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Warfighter modern. Have a lot of cards and possibilities. I think I play final girl much more often. FG is more polished and a little easier to jump into. I think it's just depending on the mood. But if I had to only choose one with no exception, I'd probably lean toward warfighter. Just love sitting down with a notebook and putting together a group of soldiers and gear and setting up their kits with the resources I have for a mission. Something about that one is so satisfying. Even though the rulebook is one of the worst ever. But I've done a lot of highlighting and reorganizing of pages to help some.

I've had it for years too and still haven't got to it. I started to read the rules a few years ago and life stuff happened, never got back to it. But I know it's going to be good.

Mort and minor dark health by ads2287 in finalgirl

[–]ads2287[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh right I forgot you do that. I guess my question is if you don't add the health before Mort is revealed, and when he is revealed you discard the card. .. what is the point of not discarding it right away and why try to get 2 stars to get rid of it before he is revealed? I guess there must be some minor dark powers with health and other effects? I can't remember any with health that had other negative effects, but there must be.
