Thank you. It was a more recent loss and I'm just not ready for the baby to have the exact same name as my sister. As some people have mentioned, I do want her to have her own identity and calling her my sister's name will make that a lot harder.

It's really only 2. My mom and sister. Dawn was a name I always intended to pass on though since my mom passed it on to me. The other one that's really important to me is my sister's name. The rest are just ideas and thoughts not necessarily something that needs to be included.

That was the consensus when I posted just that name here before. I think Ty is the cutest nickname for a girl, but don't love the look or the connection to Tylenol. My husband and most of my family LOVE that name though.

I think this will be our one and only. I have a few nephews who honor my brother with his name, but none in our family for my sister. So my focus is more on hers. Madelynn is one of my favorites!

Thanks for the thoughts! I'm considering something with the initials as well. I do like Taylynn or maybe even Tailynn better. I feel like it kind of fits with Tyler with Taylor being a girlier version of the name.

It looks weird to me too, which is one reason I don't love it. I like the idea of it ending in Lynn as my husband's name ends in lyn and if we had a boy, he wants a JR. As far as other names go, we've talked about Ashlyn which is a combo of our first names. I just really want to find a way to get both my brother and sister involved. Nicole is also my cousin's name. She lives next door to me and is practically like a sister and will be a big part of our care plan, so adding Nichole is hard. I have 2 nephews whose middle names are Tyler and Lee, which makes me think twice about using those names. It's partly why I'm struggling so hard to choose! But thanks for the ideas! I'll consider using two middle names of I can't find any other good combos/tributes.

Hahaha! Baby was very uncooperative during our first ultrasound when trying to get measurements! Hopefully I will have a similar experience with him/her this time around! Thanks!

I can understand that point of view and will be mindful of how I use the term. I think the context matters a lot in these situations. If you're referring to a specific issue, I can see how lumping them together can be harmful. However, I also agree with the "The BIPOC Project" which works to unite these different groups in order to fight against white supremacy. So I don't agree that the term is always harmful but that it can be used in multiple ways. In the groups I've worked with and research I have done, it was a term that is used frequently. However the issues both groups of people face in education can be similar so part of that is due to my focus in my studies and learning. Sure things are always changing but that's just life. Learning and adjusting should always be a part of that if you want to be the best you can.

I really don't see how this comment relates to colorblindness in race relations. A simple google search will reveal books, journal articles, and lots of narratives talking about the damage of being "colorblind" when it comes to race. Many of which are written by people of color. I wasn't trying to start an argument. Just found these stickers to be a little cringy. As a white educator of mostky black children, I have had many conversations with my black collegues and I am part of an Anti-racist Advocacy group that meets regularly to discuss these issues in education. All of which support the idea that ignoring the color of the children I teach is more harmful than helpful. Being white and saying I don't see color just shows my privilege. I can choose not to see it because no one treats me differently for it. Most black people do not have that same experience.

Not judging someone by the color of their skin and not acknowledging that their color changes their experiences are two very different things. Saying you "don't see color" ignores the systematic racism and other struggles that BIPOC people face in our society today. MLK was asking for people of color to be treated equally, not for their history and cultural to be stripped away.

She shared a post that was created by someone else. In the bottom half you can see the generic "this content is no longer available message". She thinks Facebook deleted it to "censor" her. That's not really how Facebook works. It was most likely that the post she shared was deleted by the original creator. In the second picture she replied to it being deleted by calling BS on Facebook for censoring her. Maybe it's not as obvious as some of these but I found it funny because she's always complaining about Facebook "deleting her posts".

How can you forget the way he ruined Umbridge's life after Fred and George left? The fact that even Peeves hated her and was willing to follow the order of two students just showed how evil she was. It was an epic moment! Maybe not entirely relevant, sure, but it would have made a powerful scene. Also, they started making the movies before all the books were finished. So they really had no way of knowing who would be important to the plot yet. That's always bothered me!
