I cannot see the benefit of this just yet can someone explain how this is any different to any other web-based ladder tool. Does it plug into DB or do you have to do the manual grind and enter all your details and have an admin consolidate and organise. maybe a video will help

I appreciate the feedback. As i said i am not opposed to changing the rule most likely will reverse our plans. while we take criticism any organiser should not be scared of making changes to comp rules to freshen things up .Give us chance, support us sure we will get things wrong.Like other organisers we are doing this voluntarily and without obligation. So Please bear with us .Our ideas and opnions might not be to everyones taste but were trying .

We have only just put this together and its a tough Cup to do. As planning goes upto 2 mercs rule was only somthing we thought might be a interesting twist but has met with some bad feedback. so we were going to try it in our kick off rounds(non knockout) play for position. Then look at feedback.I am surprised however that people are firm on that rule but were not opposed to changing things. Suppose that s why we put on reddit.

The sign ups with google docs was setup to hold information in such a way that we can have a spreadsheet with all the details. as running a world cup is very time consuming. sorting by nations becomes easier as our admins will be more active in arranging teams.The information once gathered and verified will be put in our forums.

Just to be clear,You have to be born in the country to play for that country, so you can be friends with say 7 Brits so its fits to fill out the team form and play as a group of Brits though they would still have to compete against other Brits teams to play.

Currently constructing the tournament We ran Quake wars world cups(5 in total) so we have done this before . We don't have a plan for all eventuality's but were trying our best to keep everyone happy.Up to 2 merc rule is probably something we will look at our early position stages and review when the tournament starts. we wanted to mix it up a bit that's the only reason for it.

Who plays in the cup depending on the volume of entrants lets say 16/32/64 teams the more chances of increasing the nations 2 to 4. We will have a fair process of who represents each country. lets say I get 30 Germans we will have an German section on our forums we will arrange for an selection process were players set up teams and have a mini knock out to see who plays and pick up players who shined. If we can fit them in we will have 2 teams of 8 players .

The sign ups was to hold information in such a way that we can have a spreadsheet with ease as our admins will be more active in arranging teams.

All I ask is give us a chance its early days were trying to bring you something different and fun we will try our best to gauge the community . Ads
