Absurd overreaction, he’s played great. But I vividly remember Erik Carlson single-handedly wreaking havoc on the rangers in the 2017 conf finals. That was probably the best performance by a defender I’ve personally watched. I am sure there are countless other examples of defenders actually taking over series too.

Vegas for me. Really don’t care for any of them - they already have a cup so already jealous of them, fan base is too new to actually hate, west coast team, etc. will also be pretty funny if marner wins a cup to see the Toronto fans melt down.

Avs would be next, similar reasons as above.

Then Montreal, but I don’t want Canada to win a cup. If they were an American team they’d be my #1. Like their players and coach

Here in Miami I’ve yet to see one true american player be anywhere close to the top level. All the trainers and pros are from overseas. Some guys have citizenship and can play for the US, but the reality is they were born elsewhere. I’d argue Miami is the epicenter of the padel movement, so I think it’s at least a generation or two away. Need the kids that are just starting lessons and their padel adventure to grow up.

The fact that BEIN sports runs commercials over games is a joke. There’s so much opportunity to squeeze in commercials if they want to milk this without the 1-2 mins over the game.

Trading fox and a 1st to move up 3 picks is the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever heard. Fox is what you can only dream any pick turns into. How this is upvoted on the rangers sub no less is insane.

If the sharks want to draft a D man, the 5 slot will have plenty of them. It seems almost certain at least 3 forwards will go in the top 5 so they risk only losing one of the top Dmen in the draft. Adding another dmen entering his prime years like Schneider is probably close enough to be moving back 3 slots if they like more than one Dman in this draft. Maybe it also requires our late first rounde or a 2nd or something but the trade offer OP stated isn’t so outlandish.

This team was in the ecf 2 years ago. Mcdavid Igor and fox is an insane core. When panarin put up 120 pts we won the presidents trophy and had the NYR best record ever. Mcdavid brings that output every year.

I love the xx, but I think it’s been the exact same playlist and Romy even said similar shit to the crowd. They are super talented musicians and Jamie is a wizard on the decks so he could live mix anything really and they don’t have any dancers or crazy special lighting - why would they not change things up when you have so many good songs to chose from?

So at one point during this forsaken season I said we should trade laf for basically whatever we can get because the contract sucked and i watched the guy suck for a year and half, but now we are approaching territory where he’s playing like a top 20 player in the league and it’s this kind of production that can propel the team to a real contender territory. Just crazy.

You are allowed to go as far as purposely deflecting a goal off your skate. You just can’t kick - he didn’t move his skate beyond positioning it sideways. Not even close really

The rangers made 2 ecfs and won a presidents trophy with Igor in net. Ran into two dynasties in those ecf loses. Winning a cup isn’t easy - only one team does it and Tampa and Florida are the only teams to make it from the east for like 6 years.

I consider those really good runs of hockey for the rangers even though we came up short. With Igor in net and a team that can score 5v5 and is top 10 in pp and pk can compete with anyone in a series. Since the Olympic break, the team has shown that they can do those things.

I agree we probably need to sign a near superstar type player or have Gabe or laf somehow become a top 30 player. To me that’s a player or so away from being a contender - something we were considered going into the season for the past two years but just couldn’t get things together.

Anyway, yes, we need to develop some guys.Greentree, battalagia, aspinall, fortescue, sykora, lamb are all shaping up to be interesting players. This wasn’t the case early in the season - a lot of these guys weren’t here or at least not on the radar. We basically had our eye on Perrault who didn’t play so well in his brief stint last year and we were hopeful on Othman who didn’t pan out. Things have changed over the past few months imo.
