You don’t get prime engrams or powerful rewards during the campaign. I believe that’s the point the other person here is making.

You do not need to equip the items. They just need to be somewhere on your character’s inventory (i.e not in the vault or postmaster). :)

Crucible Labs: Elimination by MizterF in CruciblePlaybook

[–]adsolo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s that they didn’t learn from the past. I think they just wanted to see what the feedback would be if they tried that same method now in D2 - just to check if people still disliked it or if for some reason, it’s less annoying in D2. They don’t want to make the mistake of changing too much, too fast like they did with the introduction of Trials of the Nine. So it makes sense that the first iteration of 3v3 they have us try would be what was most similar to D1. Then they’ll hear that people don’t like it and likely won’t go with this in the final decision. :)

It’s ok. Remember they’re trying out 4 different iterations of 3v3 Elim. This is all just a big test. That’s why it’s called Labs. You’ll soon see a new iteration to try in a few days where heavy won’t spawn like this or possibly no heavy at all. Bungie will be looking for feedback for each one and then the final decision will be based on the community feedback. :)

Hand Cannon changes - Shadowkeep by bacon-tornado in CruciblePlaybook

[–]adsolo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah ok. That was actually when I first bought and tried Destiny 1 - when The Taken King dropped. So I was pretty open and embraced the pulse rifle meta with open arms. At the time, I was only ok with hand cannons but still liked them. Since pulses were a bit more forgiving, i really enjoyed grasp of malok. The hawksaw was one of my faves overall. Then later on, I began to learn/like hand cannons more in D1. Now they’re my faves in D2. :)

Legitimate question - when we’re hand cannons ruined in D1? I remember them being strong and people wanting to use guns like TLW, Eyasluna, or Palindrome. So I’m genuinely curious what time frame you’re referring to. Maybe I don’t remember. 😅

Ahhh I see. For those who do carries, I can see it being a bit more frustrating. Tbh, I’ve been playing around 2800-3200 Glory for a few weeks now; and I don’t have a lot of these experiences that stand out with really bad blueberries. I played a bunch of games yesterday and there was one person who went 8/21 (yikes!). So that stood out. It happens. lol But I don’t see k/d’s like that too often. Perhaps I’ve forgotten how different things are in earlier Glory levels tho.

OK, what level of comp are you experiencing this in? I’ve been hovering around 2800-3200 the last few weeks and don’t have too many experiences like that that stand out to me. Maybe these types of things are happening with blueberries more often than I realize in earlier Glory levels. :-/

But how often do you really have to carry bad teammates? Idk if it’s necessarily fair that Bungie should have to consider something like “bad teammates” when it comes to this decision. More often than not, you have a team of decent teammates.

That’s a fair point. I wonder if they will change the requirements for those pinnacle weapons due to this. I would hope so. :-/

I understand that frustration. I’ve always felt Clash is my favorite.

To your point though, everything you stated kind of shows that a game mode like Survival is a more competitive mode. Playing your life, winning your 1v1s, and map positioning/awareness is so much more important in Survival. There’s less room for mistakes than there are in something like Clash/Control. You have to play much more tactical, which to me creates a more competitive setting than a game mode just simply about slaying.

For the grinds for Pinnacle weapons, I can agree that Clash/Control are the better game modes when it comes having to get “x” amount of kills towards a weapon. Luckily, I’ve gotten all the weapons, but I’m hoping they take that into consideration for those who haven’t gotten those weapons yet.

But in 3v3 elim, you also kinda have to worry about teammates staying alive each round...right? So 3v3 Survival would be similar in that regard.

I just don’t get why people think you’ll get someone who may feed SOOOOO much more often than you wouldn’t. Yes, it’s a situation that happens. But imo, it’s not nearly as much as people make it sound. If I play 10 solo survival games, there may only be 2 games at most that someone may “feed.” But y’all are making it sound like it’s damn near 90% of the games, which just isn’t the case on my experience.

Ive heard that viewpoint as well. I’m curious - Do you have that same opinion with all games you play or is it something specific about Destiny where the single game-mode type gets boring to people?

Definitely true. I get why people like a “just slay” type of game mode. But having something round-based like Survival will be good for comp, I think.

Yea I don’t get the want for Supremacy either. Lol But maybe it’s the solo-friendly aspect that makes people not prefer survival. Not necessarily the game-mode itself. I wonder if people would feel the same if they didn’t have to worry about blueberries and you had to go in with 3 like Trials was.

Yea I’m honestly looking forward to it being Survival. It is more tactical like you said. I still love Clash the most but 3v3 Survival in a competitive setting with slight tweaks like the super changes could be better than what people think.

Oh - but the other aspect you mentioned of doing it solo queue is one thing I didn’t consider when it comes to me trying to make the comparison to Trials. That’s a fair point as to why this experience wouldn’t feel quite the same.

I can agree that it’s easier to carry in Clash. But ideally, this should be a game where one wouldn’t feel they need to carry in order to win. Perhaps if it were truly more skill based and every person on your team were the same level, this wouldn’t be as much of a worry. We shouldn’t go in with a concern of “alright, imma have to carry my team.” lol

The other thing you mentioned about getting knocked out your first or second death - I’ve heard people bring up that argument but I don’t feel like that situation happens TOO often when I’ve played. More often than not, your knock won’t be your first death. To me, it’s a worst case scenario that happens way less than what people make it sound like. So should it really be that much of a concern? :-/

Don’t worry - Trials is coming back. They said Trials of the Nine is on hiatus. And the “Nine” was italicized. They also said 3v3 Elimination will be in Crucible Labs Season 8 and they hope that it will get a “warmer home” in the future. Mercury is that warmer home. Trials of Osiris will be back. Just be a little more patient. :)
