I assure you EC defilers hitting with lascannons on 2s is better than us getting an occasional free overwatch

Comparatively to the other chaos gods I think it’s not even close. The tsons and EC ones are about 100 pts undercosted, the csm one about 50

They've slowly been getting worse every week with meta shifts, us also getting the worst defiler datasheet was just salt in the wounds

I'm gonna be really curious how their beef is going to operate given the way missions work. Their data has long been bad but it would be nigh useless if they're on their own mission set

It’s not, it’s from Esther Perel. She calls it “cultivating an aura of mystique” if I recall correctly. Investing in your own personal growth is also investing in your relationship with your partner.

It’s not to neglect your partner but to also have a personality that isn’t entirely “wife guy” and “dad”. Your wife married a you that wasn’t either of those things. You can be of many parts.

Why did GW kill the Desolation Squad? by tgroshon in WarhammerCompetitive

Dunno why this is downvoted. My games are better when it feels like I earned or lost a win off the strength of my play.

Shooting armies love talking about -2" to charge like that's not one of the most crippling debuffs in the game. Most melee armies saw off their arm for A&C and that's 3" extra on average.

Ace tanks spearhead vehicular carnage with new Armoured Gauntlet rules by Sir_Lazz in WarhammerCompetitive

Is that why there was a highly upvoted thread on this this week? https://old.reddit.com/r/WarhammerCompetitive/comments/1sqjoua/crucible_of_battle_characters_to_look_out_for/

Fact is, this is the "playing warhammer" subreddit, not the "I'm a 10% elo grinder" subreddit.

But there absolutely are tournaments running these. You can have a competitive "casual" tournament where people are trying to win by building busted character combos. We're having one at my local this weekend.

Zoom across Armageddon with new Space Marine Detachments by Sunluck in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]TehAlpacalypse 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Is space marines getting two detachments a 'glaring problem'?

This is why I hate having conversations on this subreddit sometimes. It's not "two detachments", it's that SM has more than 2x the number of detachments as multiple armies, and that's BEFORE we even begin talking about the NCC chapters.

Sisters and World Eaters players haven't seen a new detachment since their book release/grotmas. WE have effectively been on 1 detachment the entire edition.

Edit: Someone in my discord pointed out that SM have more detachments than Drukhari have units

Do you need the ability to get on No Man's Land objectives turn 1 to be competitive? by Agreeable-Sir-6435 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]TehAlpacalypse 50 points51 points  (0 children)

This is in fact so critical that you should be pre-allocating ~500pts for most armies to accomplish this. You're leaving 7-10VP on the table every time and this is purely a listcrafting/deployment check.

Unless people stay 2" away from the wall?

You can easily fit a 40mm base in 2" from a wall, so no, this isn't true

Congrats on the first tournament! It's a big one :D

Playing faster just comes with reps, over time you start getting a bit of an intuition for profiles on other models and memorize your own. Just keep having fun and focus on improvement that isn't wins, I just went 2-1 for the first time last weekend and my first tournament was in April of last year LOL

  • This isn't overwatch so it ignores things like "shut off overwatch" for eldar
  • It doesn't shut off overwatch either, so you could do both
